This past Earth Day, in strong form, 80 employees came out Saturday morning to help green up the Willimantic community! 🗑️ The group spent time picking up trash and cleaning debris throughout the streets.

Going for gold! 🥇 Members of our Hauling Division had a front-row seat to the joy brought by friendly competition at the recent Windham Special Olympics Invitational Swim Meet! In addition to sponsoring the event, Division Manager Mark DiMauro, Operations Supervisor Ben DeVivo, Sr. Strategic Account Manager Marc Morgan, and MRF Scale Operator Roxanne Lacasse helped direct parking lot traffic and hand out educational pamphlets to attendees.

This past weekend, Troy Talman parked the Casella Waste Systems Sunoco SK Modified in victory lane at the 49th Icebreaker!
Talman battled side by side and traded the lead with Keith Rocco for the whole event, leading all but one lap of the 30 lap feature.
This is Talman’s first victory with Casella Waste, in his fifth appearance with the logo on the car.
Just an interesting note, Talman’s uncle won the 1993 Icebreaker 30 years ago.

Other Casella Waste teams also had an amazing weekend as well!

As Willimantic Driver Shawn Waterman was servicing a local route last week, he noticed an elderly man severely injured in the middle of the road. Thanks to his alertness and quick thinking, Shawn rushed to the man's aid and immediately called for additional medical assistance.
