Swipe for details of one of the highlights of the sale: Lot 56, George Inness (American, 1825–1894), Meadow Brook. This oil on board, measuring 8 x 12", has been professionally conserved with documentation and is included in the artist’s Catalogue Raisonné. Inness is recognized as one of the most influential American painters of the 19th century, known for his atmospheric landscapes and masterful use of light, color, and shadow.
The sale also features property from the estate of Phyllis & Alexander Kroll Jr. of Charlotte, Vermont, fine furnishings and carpets from a Pittsfield mountain retreat, paintings by William Hart, and objects descending in the family of Samuel C**t.
