When someone on a nonprofit team says they’re “at capacity,” it’s often met with concern. Or worse, judgment. 😣
“They must be overwhelmed.”
“They’re behind.”
“They need better time management.”
But when we take a closer look, what we usually see is a system making quiet assumptions: that people have unlimited memory, unlimited time, and unlimited tabs open.
There’s nothing lazy about juggling five tools to do one job. Or manually tracking steps no one remembers creating. Or keeping crucial info in your inbox because there’s nowhere else it reliably lives. 😅

Pick one recurring task and ask, “What part of this exists only because the system is messy?”
Fix that part first. ✅
