Custom framing is about designing the entire presentation around the artwork. A black frame and white mat is clean and classic, but look at what happens when we frame for the image.

We chose a moulding that echoes the texture of the tree trunks, layered two shades of green pulled from the photograph, and floated the top mat for added depth. One frames the photograph. The other becomes part of it.

A really cool custom project that came through the lab. Our customer supplied us with a license from the museum to reproduce this piece, and we handled the fine art printing and custom framing from there.
We printed it on Hahnemühle Museum Etching, one of our favorite fine art papers for work like this. Its heavy texture and matte finish give the print a beautiful, traditional feel.
For the framing, we finished it with a triple mat to add depth and give the artwork a presentation that felt appropriate for the piece.
From licensed museum reproductions and fine art printing to custom framing, we love getting projects like this through the shop.

Losing a pet is never easy.

Recently, I lost my dog Benny after nearly 14 years together. I wanted to create this memorial shadow box so his collar, tags, paw print, and photo didn’t just end up sitting in a drawer.
