10/2 2P: The Gillespie County Burn Ban has been LIFTED by Judge Jones after consultation and recommendation of the lift by the Gillespie County Fire Marshal and local City and County fire chiefs. The burn ban was lifted at 1:45P.

Regardless of conditions, landowners are strongly encouraged to treat burning with extreme care every day. Daily conditions such as wind, humidity, and previous recent rainfall must be taken into account to ensure a safe burn. Not all locations may have the same fuel dryness based on recent rain, and vegetation considerations must be assessed while planning a burn.

Landowners MUST call the burn into Gillespie County Dispatch at 830-990-8793 and press 1. Burning should NEVER be left unattended and should only be conducted after sunrise and before sunset.

10/1 11:30A: Flash Flood Warning has been canceled. Flood Advisories are still in effect for possible ponding on roadways from light to moderate rain. Report any flooded roads to dispatch and do not drive into any high water. Wait for the water to recede.

10/1 8:20A: NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Harper and Western Gillespie County until 2P. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen and the incoming rain has rainfall rates projected to be in the 2 - 3 inch per hour range.

Flash flooding is expected to begin and water may begin to collect in low lying areas or across low water crossings. Avoid driving into any flood water. Turn around, don't drown.

Please stay safe and have multiple ways to receive weather updates for the next few days. Dangerous conditions are expected for all of our area.

A slow moving cold front will bring multiple chances for heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding late today through Friday. Chances for heavy rain and flash flooding are highest Wednesday night into Friday. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts up to 8 inches are possible. Monitor trusted sources for forecast updates as we move through the work week.

9/15 1:20P Fire crews are making significant progress extinguishing the fire. Crews are canceling responding units and will continue to work the incident with current units in place.

9/15 1:15P: Initial size up by arriving responders is a slow moving grass fire in light fuel.

9/15 1:05P: A brushfire is reported near the 3300 block of Ranch Road 648. Fire crews are responding and working to extinguish the flames. The fire was sparked with a cutting torch.

Wildfires are a top threat for Gillespie County residents. Since August 1st, crews have been dispatched to at least 15 brushfires, with a few of these fires reaching larger than 75 acres.

For , landowners and ranchers are encouraged to take steps to be prepared for a fire on their property!
