Specialty Glass Products is a growing, family owned and operated business located in Willow Grove, PA that has manufactured custom precision glass products for a wide range of applications and industries for nearly 60 years. Some of the industries we service include Biomedical, Aerospace & Defense, Communications, and Electronics, among many others. Specialty Glass Products is currently seeking a Glass Technician for a full time position at our manufacturing plant located in Willow Grove, PA. This position is for our first shift which operates Monday through Friday with a negotiable morning start time. The Glass Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery to manufacture precision glass parts in accordance with customer specifications. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial, but not required for this position. On-the-job training for all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment will be provided. No previous experience is necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Operates machine tools to turn, mill, grind, face, drill, bore, shape, etc. glass materials to their required dimensions
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the properties and characteristics of glass materials
• Adheres to all plant safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Checks output according to quality control principles to ensure the highest quality
• Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
• On-the-job training for all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment will be provided
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• No previous experience in manufacturing is necessary
• High School/trade school graduate/G.E.D, or equivalent experience
• Ability to arrive to work on time, as scheduled on a daily basis
• Ability to effectively and safely utilize machinery, equipment, and tools to produce glass products
• Ability to handle precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and pins
• Ability to read and understand specification sheets, procedures, and other related documents
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Exposure to open flames and noise in manufacturing areas
• Safety glasses are required on the manufacturing floor and other designated areas
• On-the-job training for all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment is provided
BENEFITS:
The Glass Technician starting pay rate is $14.00/hr, plus potential overtime opportunities as needed. This position is for our first shift which operates Monday through Friday.
