Beautiful end to a nice day. Stream IT Networks completed another battery backup build at a tower today. 31 of our tower sites now have battery backup. We build for 12 or more hours, sometimes closer to 24 if the site is remote.

Over time more equipment is added and batteries slowly degrade so sometimes we get a surprise during a power outage and have to roll a generator before we were expecting to.

Our intention is that no matter how long the power is out, you will always have an internet connection, providing you have a way to power your house WiFi equipment so it stays connected to our towers.

Today we installed internet service at the Willows Museum. It was extra special because one of our equipment vendors sent a representative out to observe our installation practices and gain insight into how their hardware is used in the field.

There is a tremendous push from the government that we absolutely must have fiber to every home. The reality is that wireless technology and private companies like ours have often outpaced government-funded projects by many years.

Local companies like ours, using the latest wireless technology, don't just compete with the big ISPs—we often exceed them in the areas that matter most:

Uptime, reliability, customer support, and deployment speed (the time it takes to bring service to a new area).

There is currently a race to the bottom for internet service pricing across America. We may not be the cheapest, but if you call us, you'll talk to a real person who was born and raised in Glenn County.

We'd like to thank everyone for putting up with various outages the last week or two while PG&E played games with the power grid.

Almost all of our major tower sites, and a bunch of the smaller sites have battery backup systems ( around 30 of our towers ) that can provide varying run time on battery. Plus our fiber feed locations are all battery backed up.

For shorter duration outages, we're fine on battery, but as they get longer we have to stage generators at the towers to charge the systems back up. That's when we start the whack-a-mole game of juggling where to place generators to keep ahead of the battery depletion.

We don't always get it right. Sometimes towers have had load added since the last power system audit and things fail sooner than expected. But after each failure of a system, we take notes and schedule upgrades and improvements to make the next time smoother.

Stream IT Networks does not do a lot of advertising, for 13+ years we've relied on our good people to spread the word. Thank you so much for that. We will never be a massive ISP. But that's fine, what we do have is that local connection you'll never get from a big ISP. And we do this all while still finding time for family, friends, and the things that matter most in life.

The US government has gifted approximately $42.45 Billion to the larger ISPs in America because "internet has to be affordable".

Where is the handout for our power bills? Something doesn't seem right here.

For the record, Stream IT Networks has never taken a single dime from the government. We built our network like normal people build businesses.

No handouts. Just hard work.
