Burn Ban has been lifted. In Texas, all outdoor burning in unincorporated areas is regulated by
State Law. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
publishes these regulations in their “Outdoor Burning in Texas” guideline.

UPDATE: Burn Ban Rescinded

🚨 RAIN OR SHINE… THE BURN BAN IS STILL IN EFFECT! 🚨

Yes, we got some much needed rain, but Van Zandt County is STILL under a burn ban! Please refrain from outdoor burning until the ban has officially been lifted.

🚩 Not sure if the burn ban is still active? Check our flagpole at the fire department! We fly a burn ban flag while the ban is in effect and will remove it once the ban has officially been lifted.

Until then, keep the matches put away! 🔥🚫

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe!

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Wesley Pruitt Jr. and everyone who helped make yesterday’s water donation possible.

They took the time to stop by our station and donate 10 cases of bottled water to help keep our firefighters hydrated. Donations like this may seem simple, but when we’re out working fires, training, or responding to calls in the Texas heat, having plenty of water on hand is incredibly important.

We’re fortunate to live in a community where people are willing to step up and support their local volunteer fire departments. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by every member of Myrtle Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Thank you for supporting the men and women who serve our community! ❤️🚒
