I’m incredibly honored to be part of the judging panel for the 2026 AIBP Visionary Awards, alongside some seriously talented photographers and educators in our industry.
And if you’ve been thinking about entering, this is your nudge: we’re officially in the FINAL WEEK.
The AIBP Visionary Awards are open to professional, novice, and hobbyist bo***ir photographers, with categories designed to let like images compete against like images and separate commissioned from non-commissioned work.
There’s also more than $3,000 in cash prizes on the line this year, along with recognition, industry honors, and prizes from some fantastic sponsors.
But competition is about more than awards. Putting your work out there, hearing it discussed and evaluated, and learning to look at your own images with a more critical eye can make you a stronger photographer. I’m excited to be on the other side of that process this year.

I can finally share it: I’m teaching at Texas School of Professional Photography - Addison, TX 2027. 🎉

My class, The Modern Bo***ir Studio, is a four-day immersive in hands-on bo***ir, client experience, and intentional business design.

We’re going well beyond “how to take pretty bo***ir pictures.”

We’ll be digging into the way all the pieces of a successful bo***ir studio work together: creating intentional imagery, directing and posing real people, building a client experience that earns trust, designing products and pricing for profitability, and putting systems in place that support the business you actually want to run.

There will be hands-on shooting. Live demonstrations. Real-world business strategy. Honest conversations about what works, what doesn’t, and why.

Because a strong bo***ir business isn’t built on photography alone. It’s what happens when your artistry, your client experience, and your business decisions all start working in the same direction.

Some news I've been sitting on for a while...

𝗜'𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮.
