Day 11: Business goals make all the difference! Start with the end in mind. Want to serve 200 clients? Okay! That's 50 people per quarter. But if you know there is a community event or other activity that happens later in the year, you may want to adjust your client goals to Q1: 25 Q2: 25 Q3: 100, and Q4: 50. From here, you can build out your strategy for marketing, recruitment, retention, etc. Be sure to include progress check-ins to make sure you are on target or if you need to pivot.

Without them, your agency is probably operating in dangerous territory. ☠️ Take some time to review your policies to make sure they are still current. Review the procedures as well. If the policy is outdated submit a suggested revision for board review and approval. In most cases, procedures can be updated without board approval.

If you are new to the nonprofit sector or new to being an Executive Director, these 12 tips can help you end the year with a bang! Here's Tip 1: Send out an end-of-the-year giving appeal. Approximately 30% of all annual giving occurs in December and about 10% of all annual giving occurs in the last three days of December. It's worth the time and effort to send out a compelling letter.
