🌟 Cape Fear MED Week is all about connection, collaboration, and community! 🌟

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our economy — and when we come together, we don’t just grow our own ventures, we uplift each other. 💪🏽✨

Whether you’re just starting out or scaling up, there’s something powerful about being in a room full of dreamers and doers who understand the journey.

Let’s keep building bridges, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another. Because when one of us wins, we all rise. 🙌🏽

💬 Why it matters:
Access to capital is one of the biggest barriers to growth. Building business credit, keeping organized financials, and connecting with local programs like the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Channel Powered By Live Oak Bank, Genesis Block, CFCC Small Business Center, or the Brunswick Community College Business Center can help open those doors to prepare for funding and contracts.

POV: You check your P&L… and it’s finally in the green! 💚💰

Being a business owner is wild — one day you’re crying over invoices, the next you’re dancing because the numbers actually numbered! 😂📈

But let’s be real — the journey to profit isn’t always pretty. Some months it’s ramen and receipts, others it’s champagne and spreadsheets 🥂.

If you’re not seeing the “+” yet, don’t panic. Keep showing up, adjusting, learning, and selling. Your time is coming — and when it does, that P&L glow-up is gonna feel so good! 🙌

Congratulations to our Wilmington Chamber of Commerce 2025 Excellence in Business Award recipient Luis Munguia.

Luis Munguia, owner of Market Street Tire & Auto, won the Latin American Minority Business Excellence Award. Market Street Used Tires & Auto expanded from a small tire shop to a full-service auto repair shop that now handles service requests for seven dealerships in Wilmington. Luis and his team faced adversity as an opportunity for growth. Like many small, family-owned businesses, they have faced challenges ranging from supply chain disruptions and rising costs of parts to increased competition and the demands of maintaining consistent top-notch service. Instead of allowing these obstacles to hold them back, they chose to adapt and innovate. Improvements include customer communications, financing options, and expanding their range of services to meet the in-house needs. These obstacles motivated Luis and his team to become more resourceful, improving systems and service, while reinforcing the trust they have built with their customers.

🌟 Connect. Collaborate. Cultivate. 🌟

In business, no one truly grows alone.

When we connect, we open doors to opportunity.
When we collaborate, we combine creativity, knowledge, and resources.
And when we cultivate, we nurture lasting relationships that lead to growth — personally and professionally.

This is your reminder that entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be a solo journey.
Build your circle. Share your ideas. Partner with others who push you forward.
Because when businesses come together, communities thrive.

💬 Tag a business or organization you met during MED Week or met this month that you would love to connect, collaborate, and cultivate with this season!
