I don't remember who it was a million years ago who told me to take "we are thrilled/pleased" out of executive quotes in a press release, but this is a funny roundup of this all-too-common practice.

Don’t do this when writing quotes for press releases: Executives are delirious over their announcements

I remain steadily employed because I'm a naturally correct speller. I've never had one day of French language schooling, but I can usually spot a food word that is misspelled, and I have enough sense to Google words I've never seen.

Hors d'oeuvre (cannot wait to argue about the last S from now on!), etouffee (my spell check doesn't like this) are on the writers' list. I'll add prix fixe to the list as the top misspelled menu phrase I've received from chefs.

Now ACCENTS on words...this is where an old MS Word user triumphs over most folks.

“Hors d’oeuvres” is a big one.

I need to post here more. Found this interesting.

: Today's blog focus is Love & Olive Oil. (). Congrats on getting around the darned FB algorithm and into my feed this morning!

Blogger's name: Lindsay Landis

I decided that talking about social media is boring, and I am much more interested in what people have to say rather than how they say it.

Today begins a regular CrossPro feature: Blogger Crossing.

I'll feature blogs that I find interesting -- local/regional food bloggers will get some love, but if I think it's interesting, location and theme won't matter.

Oh and: I just hit 200 likes! Thanks, all.

My prediction: even with a Dislike button, somebody's gonna Like a sad post and all hell's going to break loose. Be careful, and give people the bene of the doubt.

Facebook is finally going to add a 'Dislike' button, something Mark Zuckerberg says users have been wanting for years.
