Hi again! It’s been a while but I’m feeling the itch to get back on here in a personal way, connect, encourage and just share. I’m curious what you’re hoping 2024 is going to look like for you. I’m hoping for more clarity around my business, figure out how to help others more, and be more present with my family (because what entrepreneur doesn’t feel pulled in a million different directions?!). Don't hold yourself back by thinking you have to know EXACTLY what your business is from the beginning. Just take steps forward to what seems right right now, test, get feedback and follow the clues that God has for you and keep moving forward. Being an entrepreneur means not being afraid to iterate again and again. Eventually all those pieces will come together to create something that lights you up! Take it from me who was in a corporate HR job to a wedding photographer to a bo***ir photographer and now to a product based business and business coach. You never know where life will take you but the important thing is to be open to where it's leading you ✨

It's a myth to think most successful businesses don't have struggles. Actually I'm pretty sure that the more successful they are, the more struggle they've had. And the bigger the struggles get (anyone like being sued?). If you can accept the fact that there will be struggles and obstacles to overcome, then it makes them a little less daunting when they happen. And a successful person in my mind is measured by how well they jump over those obstacles and keep going. Do you think it was smooth sailing for Starbucks or Coca-Cola? Coke only sold about 5 bottles in their first two years of business. What if they had quit after that? If it's something your passionate about, and have inside of you to share with the world, then almost nothing can stop you. ✨

I think we all want the same thing when it comes to work and life. And that's freedom. Freedom to do the things we want when we want. The freedom to pay for the things we want. The freedom to spend time with the people we want. And so on. The post in my stories today is so good. Everyone's freedom will look different so don't let others dictate what that is to you. You don't have to make 10 million dollars if you just want the freedom to have a little extra money in the side to travel, or to send your kids to a better school or to just be able to spend more time with them. It can look however you want. I personally love that I get to stay at home with my daughter, still work and make money, but on my own time, and do things like pick blueberries in the middle of the day because the neighbor called and said they were ready! That's freedom to me and that's the kind of happiness I strive for when owning my own business.

Growing up I always had this timeline in my mind I needed to achieve if I wanted to be successful and “be somebody”. I always thought I needed to be a booming business and have things all figured out by the time I was 30. But looking back, now that I’m older and wiser, I know that age is just a number and you can start anything at any age. It’s all about following your dreams and your passions with no agenda. And the journey is so much more enjoyable and more amazing when you can let go of timelines and deadlines and locked into an idea of what it all needs to look like. To let God lead, keep your heart and mind open, be present, and follow your curiosity. It is soooo much about the journey. Enjoy it. I’m now 37 and finally figuring out what really lights me up and what it is I want to do. And starting from scratch again. And that’s OK! I’m excited to be doing something I love and that fulfills me and that helps others and that’s what ultimately matters. If you ever want to chat about your business, I’m always happy to help and let you know your not alone✨
