Your bio is losing you opportunities, and you don’t even know it.

Most people list titles. Hiring managers and clients want to know what you can do for THEM.

If you want to work for a company:
❌ “10 years in HR | Manager | Top Recruitment Lead.”
✅ Formula: I help [type of company] [achieve specific result]
✏️ Example: “I help mid-size companies reduce turnover by building cultures people actually want to stay in.”

If you are building your own thing:
❌ “Coach | Speaker | Consultant”
✅ Formula: I help [specific person] [get specific outcome]
✏️ Example: “I help mid-level professionals turn years of experience into the title and paycheck they actually deserve.”

Lead with your value. Not your resume.

YOLO, right?

05/22/2026

Rejection emails build character 😂. At least that’s what I tell myself.

Real talk though, getting passed over is rarely about whether you could do the job. It’s often about whether they could see you in the role or thought you were a good fit in the team. Different problem, but fixable.

📌Say this instead: “In my last role, I led a project that cut processing time by X % OR in my current role, I saved the company $X in costs by XYZ. That is the kind of problem I genuinely love solving.”

See the difference? The first example was a personality claim anyone can make. The other is a specific problem you solved, with a number that proves it, and the kind of work you want to be known for.

This is 1 of 6 communication mistakes I cover in my free guide, Why Nobody’s Calling You Back. Networking, interviews, LinkedIn, salary talks, career pivots, each one with the exact words to use instead.

If you want the project that puts you on the radar for promotion, you have to name it.

Say this in your next one-on-one:
"I would like to take ownership of [specific project or problem]. I see it is currently being [handled by X or unowned]. Here is what I would do in the first 30 days. Can I bring you a plan by Friday?"

Three things this does that "let me know if you need anything" cannot: 1) It names the work. 2) It shows you are already thinking like the next role. 3) It puts a date on the next step.

📌Save this for the next time you walk into your one-on-one.

📌SAVE this to prepare for your mid-year review.

Your manager is not psychic. If you wait until the review to summarize six months of work, you have already lost the room.

Use these three phrases in your next one-on-one:

1. ”Here is the outcome, not just the activity.” Lead with the dollar, the hour saved, the customer kept.
2. “This is what I am driving next.” Tie your current work to the next quarter, not the last one.
3. “Here is where I want to grow into.” Make the promotion conversation a continuation, not a surprise.

Mid-year reviews are not the time to be modest. They are the time to be specific.

Vacation was too good! Welp, time to get back to work 😉

05/07/2026

Most people spend more time planning a vacation than they spend figuring out what they actually want from their career.

And then they wonder why Monday morning feels so heavy.

You were not put here to just clock in and collect a check. But getting clear on the work you were meant to do takes intention. It does not just happen.

If you are ready to stop guessing and start moving with purpose, let’s work together. Link in bio to see how we can get you there.
