New vending machines are coming to Wilson!

In our continued effort to promote tourism and improve the experience for residents and visitors, the Village of Wilson will be adding two new drink vending machines at Harbor Park and Townline Pier.

We have a large number of walkers, bike riders, anglers, boaters, and visitors who enjoy our piers and waterfront areas. Now, whether you’re out for a walk, fishing, biking, or just enjoying the view, you’ll be able to grab a cold drink and stay a little longer.

We’ve received amazing feedback on the upgrades to our local parks and waterfront spaces, and we truly appreciate the community’s support as we continue working to make Wilson an even better place to live, visit, explore, and enjoy!

Our Patrol division is reporting that deer are still failing to look both ways before crossing the road! With this risky behavior, we are seeing a sharp increase in car vs. deer accidents. Although we can't control when deer choose to cross the road, we can do our best to avoid a collision by following these tips and suggestions!

-Pay close attention, especially between sunset and sunrise when deer are most active. Avoid distractions that divert your attention from driving

-If you see one deer, more are likely nearby. Travel slowly through the area

-Look for Deer Crossing signs. These areas are known to have larger deer populations

-Turn on your bright lights whenever your path is clear of traffic. Bright lights can reflect deer eyes on or near the roadway

-Always wear your seatbelt. Most injuries occur when occupants are not secured

-Remain calm, brake firmly, and stay in your lane if a deer enters the road. Most serious crashes occur when an operator swerves to avoid a collision with a deer, and can result in collisions with other vehicles or objects

-If an accident does occur, pull your vehicle over to a safe area or shoulder of the roadway. Use your hazard lights to let other motorists know you are there. Don't assume your vehicle is drivable, as damage may not be immediately noticeable

-Contact your local law enforcement agency or 9-1-1 Center to file a report, receive treatment for injuries, secure a tow for your vehicle and more.

-Stay safe and be alert!

What a weekend at the Wilson House!

From the Wilson Lakemen football, and boys and girls soccer teams big wins ⚓🧡🖤 to welcoming our Wilson Athletics Wall of Fame inductees, celebrating weddings, and raising a glass to the Buffalo Bills victory 🦬❤️💙, our house was alive with energy.

This week at the Wilson House is going to be electric. We’re rolling into it with similar hours and some additional items on the menu, with one exciting twist. On Sunday, the kitchen will close briefly for a private event, but the doors will stay wide open in the bar area and we’ll be ready to welcome everyone for the primetime 8 PM Bills game 🦬❤️💙. The energy will be high, the community will be together, and the kitchen will fire back up at 6:30 PM so you can cheer, eat, and celebrate with us.

This past weekend felt like a dream come true. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces, listening to the stories being shared, and watching our community gather together under one roof was everything we have been working toward. We are filled with gratitude for each and every person who came through our doors.

Our vision is coming to life in more ways than one. We are proud to share that we’ve hired seven more local people, bringing our team to 25 locally employed staff members who are now benefiting from the Wilson House being open. This is exactly what we dreamed of — a place where community thrives and opportunity grows.

We are also grateful to announce a new partnership with Heritage Christian Services to assist with local skills assessments. This is just the beginning, and we are looking forward to forging more collaborative relationships in the near future.

Thank you, Wilson, for making the Wilson House what it was always meant to be — a home for community, celebration, and connection.
