What I do at Jigsaw…
Jigsaw focuses around Organizational Health- but that still is a pretty broad definition. Specifically, we engage where people interact, whether with technology, process, or (our favorite) other people.
For a leader in a new situation…
Or new members added to a team
For instance, let’s say you have just been hired to run a new division or company. Leading a new organization is a process. Likely you have gotten the advise to just “listen” for a while. You have a new leadership team upon whom you will need to know, trust and rely. This takes time.
ENTER JIGSAW.
Engaging Jigsaw for a half or a full day is a “turbo boost” to this process. We use the Lumina Spark assessment so to give you and your team a solid dose of self awareness. In a short ½ day, you will begin to know, as a leader, how you are experienced. You will understand what you do (and don’t do naturally), understand your natural strengths, and also how to recognize when you are over extended. More importantly, you will, in a very short period of time, understand the behaviors and strengths of your team. The ½ day helps the entire team to understand and be responsible for the energy they bring (individually and collectively) into any situation. For an Emergency Medicine Practitioner
The stakes are life and death. Burnout is a very real problem. Multi functional teams full of experts are the norm. Emotions are high (patients, families, and co-workers). The entire environment is high acuity. Clinics survive based on patient’s impressions of care.

Even just a half day Jigsaw program will increase Emotional Intelligence - literally a survival skill for Emergency Medicine Doctors and Nurses. We use Lumina Spark to look at each members strengths and personalities. Understanding ourselves and being able to better understand our team and most importantly those we treat is key. Being able to be present, aware of, and respectful of others emotions without getting drawn in is a key factor to avoiding burnout. Better communication and understanding of patient needs and capabilities can make all the difference in knowing how to treat them in a successful manner. Studies show even a small amount of training around Emotional Intelligence makes a difference in patient satisfaction AND this positive difference is lasting!
Introducing new Processes/Process Improvement
Change is difficult and is the one true constant in today’s business environment. People react in different ways. Implementing a change to how work gets done can be stressful. Understanding how the team learns, works, and will react when they are over-extended is key.

Mentorship is the oldest form of training. It builds trust and belonging while providing a platform for learning and change. Mentorship is, by far, one of the most cost effective tools in an organization’s quiver in that it increases resilience, improves retention, embraces organizational learning and history, and raises employee satisfaction.
