35 years experience in Automotive Service Equipment - Sales, Service, Inspections, Appraisals, and more
ETL Certified Lift Inspector #2474
44 years experience in the Collector Car field
Ex-Technical Chairman, Mercedes-Benz Club of America, Greater DC Sec. I grew up when Speed Racer and Road Runner were TV shows. I saw the rise and fall of the Muscle Car era first hand. Although I later moved over
into a love for German cars, my first love has always been American Pony Cars such as Mustang - Camaro - Challenger - etc. Soon after college, in the mid 1980s, I went to work for an area auto dealership, helping organize their wholesale supply and equipment divisions. That began an over 30 year career in Automotive, that continues to this day. In the late 1980s I went on to work for, and then later purchased, a small independent Garage Equipment supply company in the DC area. After much success in working with most of the local garages and dealerships, I merged our company in to one of our top customers, a Top 50 US Automotive Dealership group, Rosenthal Automotive, and began to manage their Automotive Equipment Sales Division. There I helped design and equip, several of their large dealerships, as well as many outside shops and garages, from exotics to body shops. In 2005 I elected to become a Manufacturers Representative, covering the state of Virginia, representing the interests of over 15 quality Automotive manufacturers. At that time, I established Valley Marketing LLC. With my extensive experience around automotive lifts (having sold well over 2000 in my career), I began the process of becoming Certified by the Automotive Lift Institute, as one of their first group of Inspectors. I am currently certified to inspect all types of Automotive Lifts, old & new, inground or above ground. I am currently in a full-time position as the Eastern Regional Sales Manager for an exciting, growing manufacturer of high quality wheel service equipment, CEMB-USA, which allows me to travel from Maine to Michigan to Miami, and more, interacting with folks such as Wayne Carini, Stacey David, and others, as well as shops and garages of all types. Check out CEMB-USA on their own Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages for more information. With my ongoing, decades-long interest in classic cars, I became involved with area car clubs and groups, and was asked numerous times if I would help “check out” a car purchase, or figure out how much a particular car was worth. This has evolved into a consulting service for Pre-Purchase Inspections, and Vehicle Valuation Appraisal services, with special emphasis on 1965-73 Ford Mustangs, Most Mercedes-Benz models from 1965-2000, and Porsche “Transaxle” cars (924/944/968).
