How much do your surroundings - your office - affect your business?
What does your office communicate about you?
Not just from your client perspective but also from you and your teams perspective?
I think it can play a role...
Here's a some interesting insight into our offices at the Crabtree Group
Were not 100% sure when our building was originally built because a courthouse fire destroyed early records
But we're told by a local historian that the first picture was taken the year we got electricity and that was give or take about 1895
You can see what looks like hitching posts in that first picture. It was built by a Mr. Emory who was a lawyer and became a judge
In the 30s and 40s our building was known as Farmers Hardware
In the 50s - 60s and 70s it was known as Lays 5 and dime store.
In 2006 I bought the building and after extensive remodeling inside and out you can see the 2018 version.
Its the building running the full length of the metal awning, upstairs and down. Hopefully the picture shows our attempt a nodding to Mr. Emory as the original owner.
Fun fact: the smaller building to the right with the word 'groceries' at the top is owned by Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers...he has an awesome recording studio on the top floor!
Does your office tell a story?
