Greetings from a beautiful Shenandoah Valley and Happy Easter.

Easter bunnies, baskets, candy, and frilly dresses are nice, but Easter is about so much more. If you are wondering about the spiritual meaning of Easter, you’ve come to the right place! While visions of Cadbury eggs and cuddly bunnies may sound delightful, the true meaning of Easter is infinitely more. The spiritual meaning of Easter feeds the soul. Spiritually speaking, Easter is a Christian holiday. Easter is a holy day honoring the most important event in Christianity. Scripture tells us that Jesus was put to death and buried. He then rose from the dead on the 3rd day. All of this was predicted throughout the Old Testament and by Jesus, himself. Easter celebrates Christ coming back to life. We celebrate because we have been rescued from sin and death and brought in to the family of God by this act of Jesus. Our failings have been paid for in full and we are connected to God forever in a way that was never done before this work of Christ at Easter. On a more personal level, Easter also means celebrating our life in Christ. Thanks for stopping by and checking in on us, now go enjoy your Easter Day.....
Dear Jesus, we need your peace. We believe that you died for our sins, and that God raised you from the dead so that by believing in you we can have peace with God and life in your name. Greetings from a beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Good Friday, just want is Good Friday? Good Friday celebrates what Christians know to be the most important event to happen in history! Good Friday is the day that we remember that Jesus Christ gave himself over to suffer and died as a sacrifice for our sins. Good Friday is followed by Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. You may wonder why it’s called “Good Friday” and not “Tragic Friday” or something that reflects the sorrow that accompanied Jesus’ death on the cross. The origin of the term “Good Friday” is debated. One idea is that the name originated from it being called “God’s Friday” and eventually evolved into “Good Friday.” Another theory that seems to hold more credibility is it was named “Good Friday” because the terms good, from the past, also can be mean holy. Good Friday came from the idea that this was a Holy Friday, the day in which God suffered and died of our sins.

This is a chance to open our hearts to the passion that the Cross communicates. Jesus’ obedience, suffering, and death speak in such a powerful way and for the unimaginable love God has for us!
