After stepping down from The Journey Home and the YMCA of Muncie, I’ve made the decision to focus on building The Small Business Consultant.
Both roles gave me the opportunity to do meaningful work.
I was able to lead teams, work through financial decisions, improve systems, solve operational problems, and help move organizations forward during important seasons.
But my background has never fit neatly into one lane.
I’ve served in executive leadership. I’ve worked in finance, operations, supply chain, economic development, nonprofit leadership, military leadership, and business ownership.
I’ve helped lead countywide economic development work through Randolph County United.
I’ve helped build Always Home Custom Designs alongside Katie Baker, seeing firsthand what it takes to grow an owner led business from the inside.
I’ve also had the opportunity to support entrepreneurs early in their journey, including businesses like Twisters, where the work was not just about giving advice.
It was about helping the owners stay focused, think through the next steps, and get started with more confidence.
That is the kind of work I want to keep doing.
The Small Business Consultant exists to help entrepreneurs, founders, startups, and owner led businesses get clear, organized, and ready for what comes next.
That may include strategy, finance, operations, growth planning, acquisitions, capital readiness, systems improvement, or connecting with the right advisors, lenders, investors, partners, vendors, and community resources.
Sometimes the next step is a better plan.
Sometimes it is cleaning up the numbers.
Sometimes it is preparing for a lender, investor, acquisition, or growth opportunity.
Sometimes it is building structure around a business that has outgrown the way it has always operated.
And sometimes it is simply having someone experienced sit beside you, look at the business clearly, and help you think through the next decision.
That is the work I want to do.
Helping entrepreneurs and business owners build, buy, grow, improve, connect, and move forward with more clarity.
If you own, lead, or are building a business, I’d like to hear from you:
What is the biggest decision or challenge in front of your business right now?
