Every artwork has a story.

This week, we met a client with one decades in the making.

They bought these pieces before moving from Florida to New York many moons ago.

Vibrant watercolor corals and a one-of-a-kind coral-framed mirror reminded them of the waves, sun, and sand of the home they were leaving behind.

Those pieces never made it onto the walls in New York. There was simply no place for them.

Now, with their move back to the Sunshine State, it was finally time.

As we installed, we ran into one challenge:

The mirror had beautiful character, but the hardware on the back wasn’t something we’d trust with its weight. So, we replaced it with hardware that could safely support the piece.

Seeing the homeowner take in the finished room and exclaim, “Now this feels like home!” was the kind of moment that reminded us why these projects matter.

Sometimes, a room isn’t complete until the pieces carrying a lifetime of memories find their place.

🍃 What precious pieces are you holding onto that need a space to call their own?

The difference between a workplace people forget and one they can’t wait to come back to?

It’s whether the space feels like it was designed for humans or for spreadsheets.

That feeling comes from hundreds of thoughtful decisions that make a space feel welcoming and unmistakably human.

Walking through The Miller Yard House, you could feel that intention.

Warm wood tones. Natural textures. 20 carefully curated works of art that feel like they belong.

Harvard Project Zero found workplace art strengthens emotional connection and shapes how people experience where they work.

Long before installation day, these questions have already been answered:

What should someone feel when they arrive?
How should this space invite them to slow down?
What details will they never consciously notice, yet somehow remember?

Our job is to make sure those decisions are honored long after we pack up our tools.

We were grateful to partner with , installing each piece with the same care that went into every decision that shaped the space.

🍃 What detail makes you feel welcome in your workplace?

Have you ever sat in a hotel lobby and watched how people move through it?

A few guests pause near the artwork. Most keep moving.

I’ve always been the person looking a little closer.

Not just at the piece itself, but at the lighting. The sight lines. The way a chair sits beneath it. The quiet question of whether everything is as secure as it looks.

I could see what was possible in spaces where the final placement hadn’t been given the same care as the design that came before it.

Artwork that shifted too easily. Furniture that felt more decorative than stable. Fixtures that were stunning, but not quite supported.

That awareness is what led me to start Firehawk Art Installers 15 years ago.

Today, whether we’re installing a family heirloom, a newly acquired artwork, a gallery wall, or a large-scale piece that requires careful planning, we work to protect the art and the people around it.

I’m grateful for my team, 600+ clients, design partners, and many exceptional contractors who have trusted us across more than 2200 projects.

Some have been high-stakes. Others exceptionally quiet.

All have been rooted in creating peace of mind for the people and spaces we serve.

I’ll be sharing more of the stories behind our work here. I hope you’ll enjoy following along.

Oars and skis aren’t meant to be hung on a wall. At least that’s what some people say.

But when our clients ask, we figure out how.

Even when that means driving a bucket lift inside the Stillwater apartment clubhouse.

Weaving through a trellis was one challenge. Creating a custom hardware system was another.

And then came the moment we love on every project.

The tools were still out. The ladder was nearby. We realized we were holding our breath just a little.

But then the skis and oars settled into place, and the whole room seemed to exhale.

Grateful for the Firehawk team, who kept the process calm even though this was one very opinionated install.

And thank you to our design partners and for trusting us with a challenge that asked us to think outside the ladder.

After working alongside more than 100 interior designers and art consultants, here’s one truth I’ve learned:

Your reputation opens doors, brings clients back, and leads to the kind of referrals you never have to ask for.

But just like a priceless art piece, reputations are built one detail at a time.

Installation day is often when those details are put to the test.

Here’s one project we’ll never forget, how one small hardware decision came back to visit two months later, and what we now tell every design partner before install day.

🍃 Do you always double-check the details on slide 5 before reveal day?

I still catch myself staring at empty walls.

Maybe you do too.

Before we lift the first piece, I’m already imagining how the room will feel once everything finds its place.

This project ended with 40 pieces installed throughout a community space. But before the first piece of tape touched the wall, I was thinking about tomorrow.

Kids will walk past these pieces.
Parents will gather around them.
Conversations will happen beneath them.

That meant careful measuring, thoughtful planning, and plenty of problem-solving to make sure every piece was secure for the people who will enjoy this space every day.

By the time we packed up our tools, the walls had changed. More importantly, so had the feeling of the room.

It still amazes me how the finished room looks effortless, while the work behind it rarely is.

That’s a trade we’ll make every time.
Because once we leave, the room gets to do what it was designed to do.

Thank you to for bringing the vision, and to our team for helping each piece find its place.

🍃 At what point does a room start feeling complete to you?
