Please remember that the nymph ticks are out along with all the other size ticks. So do your tick checks at least daily if not multiple times per day. And just because you may not be seeing any due to treating your property, those treatments only last so long. Typically each treatment lasts about two months for ticks and even less time for mosquitoes. So reconsider a fall treatment to at least help you get into your late fall season tick safer. Unfortunately ticks are out year round as long as the temperatures are above freezing…but our equipment could be damaged with freezing temperatures and that is why we cannot treat year round. We usually treat April to October.

Don’t ever let your guard down, especially when there are ticks that only need to be attached for 15 minutes that can carry Powassan disease that has no cure.

Now is the time to check your property for ANY standing water. I have seen so many wheelbarrows full because of all the rain and boats of all sizes, so many tires and 5 gallon buckets, kids pools out in the treelines and behind sheds right side up and upside down. Mosquitoes will lay eggs in all sorts of places where there is standing water. Also try the products from Mosquito Dunks and Mosquito Bits for ditches, ponds and small pools of water. In the video you will see mosquito larvae swimming up to get a breath and then swimming back down. Mosquito Dunks and Bits create a skim coating on the surface they can’t break. And they do not harm anything but the mosquito larvae.
