A.J. Letizio was on the road Monday with our Mobile Culinary Kitchen Merchandising Magic, serving up lunch to hundreds of Market Basket team members at their Headquarters’ location in Tewksbury, Massachusetts!

The weather was perfect, the lines didn’t stop, and the food was a hit!

With product support from Stuffed Food, Hans Kissle, Old Neighborhood, Country Home, Giffords Ice Cream, Mi Nina Tortilla Chips , Cargill Foods, North Country Smokehouse, Buitoni Pasta, Belgioioso, Lighthouse Dressings, Brioche Gourmet, and Port City Pretzel our AJL Team brought great food to the table giving people an opportunity to enjoy it together.

There’s something special about seeing people gather over a great meal, and our A.J. Letizio team was especially happy to be part of such a fun and memorable day.

A Piece of New Hampshire History Resurfaces

Yesterday morning, another chapter of a remarkable local story came out of the waters of Canobie Lake.

Following the devastating Great Hurricane of 1938, almost 2 million board feet of fallen New England timber needed to be salvaged. To protect the value of the lumber, the federal government created the Northeastern Timber Salvage Administration, which established underwater storage sites throughout New England. Canobie Lake was Site No. 28, where salvaged logs were marked “U.S.” and intentionally submerged for future use. World War II intervened, the program ended, and much of that timber remained beneath the lake for decades.

Yesterday, Al Letizio Jr., with the assistance of his good friend, Bill Marquis owner of Marquis Contracting Group, returned to the lake to carefully recover more of this historic timber.

This effort continues a project that began in 2018, when the first logs were recovered from Canobie Lake, some still bearing the original “US” stamps on their ends. The recovered wood was eventually milled, seasoned and handcrafted into beautiful wooden American flags, giving this piece of New Hampshire history a new life.

One of these special flags was presented to New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte, carrying a story that began with a hurricane nearly 88 years ago and continues today.

History recovered. History preserved. And a uniquely New Hampshire story that continues to be told.

The A.J. Letizio Sales & Marketing team was proud to attend the School Nutrition Association's Annual National Conference (ANC) in Charlotte, North Carolina!

Known as the School Nutrition Event of the Year, the Annual National Conference is the nation's largest gathering of K-12 school nutrition professionals. Each July, thousands of school nutrition operators, directors, managers, state agency staff, and industry partners come together to learn, network, discover new ideas, and explore the latest innovations shaping school nutrition.

As always, we were honored to connect with so many dedicated professionals, strengthen existing relationships, build new partnerships, and continue our commitment to serving school nutrition programs throughout the Eastern United States.
