Cottonwood County DAC is excited to support APSE’s 2026 Virtual Race this October in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

This is more than a race—it’s about supporting the freedom, choice, and opportunity for every person to pursue meaningful employment and the life they envision.

🎥 Rethinking What Works: Brian's Story

What happens when we stop focusing on limitations and start focusing on possibilities?

Brian spent 30 years in a center-based facility after being told he was unemployable. But with the support of the Minnesota Transformation Initiative and employment specialists from PHASE Industries, he discovered his interests, found meaningful work recycling batteries, and received his first paycheck.

Today, Brian is an active, contributing member of his community, proving that everyone deserves the opportunity to work, belong, and thrive.

His journey is a powerful reminder that meaningful employment changes lives—not just for individuals, but for families, workplaces, and communities.

☀️🌊 CCDAC Summer Bash at Cottonwood Lake! 🌊☀️

On Monday, our CCDAC family gathered at Cottonwood Lake for an unforgettable Summer Bash filled with sunshine, smiles, and great memories! 💙

Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled day playing yard games, exploring the playground, relaxing by the lake, showing off colorful face paint, and spending quality time with friends. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and laughter as everyone came together to celebrate summer.

A special thank you to our incredible staff for helping make the day such a success. Your care, dedication, and enthusiasm helped create a fun, safe, and memorable experience for everyone.

We're grateful for opportunities like these to build friendships, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting memories together. We can't wait for our next adventure!

🎉 Cottonwood County DAC Celebrates 60 Years at Riverfest! 🎉

What a wonderful day of creativity, community, and celebration as the Cottonwood County DAC prepared for and participated in the Riverfest Parade!

Our individuals and staff spent time creating colorful decorations, painting handprints, designing signs, and adding personal touches to help showcase our pride. The excitement and teamwork shined through every step of the process.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 60 years of serving and supporting individuals in Cottonwood County and Southwest Minnesota. For six decades, we've been building opportunities, fostering independence, and creating lasting connections within our communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped decorate, participate, and cheer us on during the parade. Seeing our group come together to celebrate this milestone made the day even more special.

Here's to 60 years of making a difference—and many more memories to come! 💚💛
