Throwing it back to 2014 and one of our projects at Moby Arena on the Colorado State University campus.

The illuminated Ram Head may look straightforward, but there's some clever fabrication behind it. The 20-foot cabinet was built using perforated metal that appears solid during the day and illuminates from within at night, creating two distinct visual experiences in a single design.

Combined with reverse pan channel letters, the project is a great example of how engineering, fabrication, and creativity work together to bring a concept to life.

After 8 years of installations, service calls, problem-solving, and probably answering the question "while you're here..." more times than anyone can count, our Superstar Installer, Mike B., officially retired at the end of April.

The good news? Mike gets to do whatever he wants.

The bad news? We no longer have Mike.

Mike spent the last 8 years helping keep projects moving and customers taken care of as part of our Installation & Service team. Recently, we gathered with much of the Schlosser crew (and his wife) to celebrate his retirement and send him off the right way.

Mike, thank you for everything you've contributed over the years. We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and steady presence you've brought to the team.

Enjoy retirement—you've earned it.

Congratulations, Mike!

The best projects have someone in their corner from day one.

A strong project starts with more than a quote—it starts with someone asking the right questions, understanding the client’s priorities, and helping guide the work in the right direction from the beginning.

That’s the role Schlosser Signs’ sales team plays.

By looking beyond the paperwork and staying focused on what matters most to the customer, our team helps create a project experience that feels more supported, more thoughtful, and more aligned from start to finish.

Most projects move through a familiar process.

But a standard process alone doesn’t always create the best outcome.

The strongest projects are shaped around the client—their priorities, their goals, and the details that matter most to them from the beginning.

That’s where Schlosser Signs’ sales team makes a real difference.

By understanding the full picture early, our team helps keep communication clearer, decisions more focused, and the entire project better aligned as it moves forward.

Because a project can follow a process and still miss the mark.

The best ones are built with the client at the center.

Throwback to Archer Complex.

Schlosser originally completed the monument and wayfinding signage for this property in 2011, establishing a cohesive signage foundation across the site.

As the complex has expanded over the years, our team has continued supporting new signage needs while maintaining continuity in design, navigation, and overall appearance.

Projects like this are a great reminder that strong signage systems are built to evolve, not just to be installed once.

Permitting and regulations can feel like the most complicated part of a project, but they’re usually not the real issue.

What actually slows projects down is unaddressed complexity early on.

When site constraints, code requirements, and stakeholder considerations aren’t fully understood at the start, that’s when delays, redesigns, and frustration begin to show up.

At Schlosser Signs, we approach complexity differently. We plan for it early, so it doesn’t become a problem later.

By addressing regulatory and project realities upfront, we’re able to keep projects moving forward with fewer surprises and smoother ex*****on.

Most signage delays don’t start with permitting.

They start much earlier—when signage isn’t part of the conversation soon enough.

By the time a signage partner is brought in, key decisions have already been made. Site layouts are finalized, designs are in motion, and what should be a seamless addition becomes something that has to be worked in after the fact.

That’s where timelines stretch, revisions happen, and things get more complicated than they need to be.

At Schlosser Signs, we approach things differently. We get involved earlier than most people expect, while projects, developments, and environments are still taking shape, so signage is aligned from the beginning, not adjusted later.

Our latest blog walks through how timing impacts everything from permitting to installation, and why bringing signage into the conversation sooner makes all the difference.

Permitting doesn’t start with paperwork. It starts with planning.

One of the biggest reasons projects get delayed isn’t the permit itself. It’s what happens before it.

At Schlosser, we approach permitting as part of the process from day one:
• Reviewing the site and identifying real constraints
• Understanding local codes and requirements early
• Aligning design decisions with those realities
• Submitting permits with fewer surprises and less back-and-forth

This upfront work helps avoid redesigns, delays, and unnecessary friction later on.

It’s a smoother process for everyone involved, and a big part of how projects stay on track.

Throwback to our work with NREL.

This project focused on creating signage that matched the innovation and precision happening inside the facility.

Our team worked through detailed fabrication and installation requirements to deliver a solution that was both durable and visually aligned with the space.

Projects like this are a great reminder that when everything comes together the right way, the results last.

As DIA's signage partner we were extra excited about this project. Signage plays an important part in making sure everyone knows how to get to the wall, use the equipment, and stays safe. Check out the newest addition to the Great Hall for yourself and happy climbing!
