Women lead by example. While women suffer burnout more often than men, women are also willing to do more about it. More women than ever are reaching out to colleagues, taking care of one another and lifting each other up. Every. Single. Day. I used to beat myself up on the weekends when I was grumpy. How could I be grumpy during the precious few days each week that I spent with my kids?

Then I figured it out, and I’m sharing it with you. Invest in yourself. Find the 15 minutes to care for you so that you can give your best to the people around you- kids, parents, friends. If you can’t find 15 minutes, start with 5, or even just 2 minutes. Once you find the time, it will naturally grow once you realize what a difference it makes.

Huh? Yes, it’s true. Beating burnout doesn’t mean you have to leave your job. You can absolutely, 100% love your job and still experience burnout, and you can absolutely, 100% beat burnout, stay in the same position, and love your job. I’ve seen it in so many amazing women (yep, talking to you, perfectionist queens!). You absolutely rock at what you do, you love the everyday, and you still experience burnout because you aren’t addressing the root cause of your burnout. When you get down and dirty with it, you create lasting change because you learn your triggers and have strategies for dealing with those signals. I can’t wait to share more with you on the how. [Save this] > You are two months into 2022 about to step into March. If you’re realizing that the year is looking a whole like 2021 or 2020, you aren’t alone. It’s time to take control and step out of planning and into action.

Stop. Relax your jaw. Lower your shoulders. And take a deep breath.

Living in a state of burnout puts your body in a fight or flight mode. You are physically focused on survival, so you've been responding to everything as a threat, but it doesn't have to be that way!!

Find your crew that loves you, really loves you, and builds you up. They don't question or critique, they just want to spend time with you. Allow yourself to sink and relax into a hug and recognize the power of doing this. It may feel uncomfortable and that's totally normal, because you are relaxing the guards and protections you've had up against the world. You are allowing yourself to be loved. Now, tag the best hugger you know below; you know - the one that gives the biggest, enveloping bear hugs that can't help but make you smile.

A favorite definition of insanity is waking up and “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. And doing the same thing day in and day out is how so many of us live because we follow our habits, which keeps us in the same cycle. So it seems clear that if we want to change our present state, we need to embrace changing our actions, right? Easier said than done? Not always. It starts smalls with micro habits.

Challenge for the day: write down what it is your after and start breaking it down to the smallest ways you can achieve this. Want to run a marathon? Start with a walk today. Want to build your savings? Go ahead and transfer $5. Because different results require different actions.

Weekends go by too quick. We hear it over and over on Mondays, and while everyone may feel it, you really feel it when you are burnt out. So how can you maximize re-filling your cup during the short 48 hours you have on the weekends?

1. Have a plan for your weekend. This small action allows you to focus on unwinding and relaxing rather than experiencing additional stress trying to make a plan. Even if you want to do nothing, knowing you are doing exactly what you wanted to, will be incredibly satisfying.

2. Get outside. Fresh air, sunshine, being outside is just good for you. Enjoy sitting outside or climb a mountain, whatever suits you, but recognize that this change can be especially critical for those of us inside on zooms all week. Amazing how a change of scenery changes your thoughts and feelings.

3. Set aside time for self-care. Maybe you can only find 2 minutes a day during the work week, but the weekend is your time, so find a way to invest more on the weekends. Self-care takes so many forms – exercise, meditations, hobbies, cooking a thoughtful, planned out meal.

4. Be purposeful on your company. Look at the people around you on the weekends. Are they encouraging? Are they supporting you? Do you feel good when you are around them? This is your time, so choose wisely with whom you share this valuable time.

5. Put the screens away. We spend hours a day whether on a computer or scrolling social media, taking in so much information, and putting the screens away allows you to explore your space rather than other people’s lives or demands.

Creating new habits for the weekend will change how you walk into Monday. I’ve seen it so many times, and I bet you have too. Bonus tip: These investments in you don’t have to wait until the weekend 😉

When we live with abundance, we are motivated by positivity and self-esteem. We open ourselves to change and progression, embracing the uncomfortable feelings that may creep in when what we know and are comfortable with starts to take a different form.

Even though the abundance may not be immediately visible to you, if you choose abundance, then it will, without fail, come to you. Like attracts like.

Respect your time and boundaries by utilizing 1 simple word: No. By owning your "no" you take back the control over your time, boundaries, and decisions. You prioritize yourself, and by saying "no" to one thing, you say "yes" to another.

You say "yes" to empowering yourself to make the best decisions for yourself.

You say "yes" to protecting yourself.

You say "yes" to respecting yourself and your needs.

Setting your boundaries will teach others how to treat you. It is not your job to do everything for everyone. It's your choice of how to prioritize your time and energy.

So here are 5 ways to start saying "no":

✨"You are so kind to think of me, but I can't right now."

✨"Thank you, but I'm already booked at that time."

✨"Sadly, I am not able to help with that."

✨"I'm not taking on any more projects at this time."

✨"Now is not a good time, but thank you for considering me."

Where are the out there today? Building our businesses requires energy- A LOT of energy. But we attract the same energy that we put out in the world, and we all want the energy that works for us and attracts the kind of things we want for our business our lives.

So while it's easy to get distracted, blame outside circumstances, resent people we see that are living the life that we want, remember to focus on the positive.

That girl boss that has everything you've ever dreamed of? Celebrate her success and channel it as inspiration.

Resentment, negativity will only bring limiting beliefs- things that leave us feeling stuck and ultimately block what we are after from coming into our worlds.

So take a minute and celebrate those that inspire you, those that encourage you to take another step, that cheer you on as you practice persistence and grit you never knew you had! Because you DESERVE it.

Release your limiting beliefs, release the negative voices, release all the elements holding you back and !

Weekly reminder, our bodies and minds are NOT machines! We need breaks, we need time to recuperate. Americans are known for not utilizing their paid vacation time every year. And why not? Because we don't like to return to the mountain of work.

Guess what. There's always something more to do. There will always be a next task. Just because you complete tasks today doesn't mean tomorrow will be void of new to-dos. There's always more!

But here's the secret. You can take control. You can take time to rest and recover. You can bounce back from burnout. Take the time to reflect on what your body and mind are telling you. Listen now, so your mind and body don't have to yell for attention later.
