Always wanted to experiment with embroidering over a printed design. And inspiration struck when I found this adorable little apron at that I wanted to gift to a girlfriend for her recent birthday 🥳

I may have to find some fabric markers and keep experimenting now!

Process peek! If I’ve already drawn up a pattern, my go-to process for transferring large-format designs to fabric is using colored carbon transfer paper.

Then I trace over that sketch with a water/air soluble marker since the carbon tracing fades with all the fabric handling as I get stitching.

Since moving down to NC last year, I’ve bonded with an older neighbor friend over textiles and stitching. And she recently gifted me with a BUNCH of large embroidery hoops - this one is actually the smallest that she gave me and it’s a 14 inch hoop!

I usually work with larger patterns, so this is amazing addition to my toolbox! This last project was the first time that I was able to fit an entire design onto a hoop in full. Certainly saves me from having to constantly reposition the hoop!

Now I just need a larger clamp on my hoop stand before I break it 🥲

Introducing the Audrey pattern!

This one’s been in the works for quite a while now. Been stitching away at her in small bites the past couple months.

But she’s finally done, and donning some spiffy handmade tassels that I just learned how to make!

Pattern available as a PDF download in my Etsy shop. As usual, comes sized for both square and lumbar sizes.
