Montreat College is embarking on its most ambitious fundraising effort in its history and is building a team to bring this vision to fruition over the next three to five years. With that in mind, Montreat has partnered with CapDev in the search for a Director of Major Gifts to join the Montreat team.

Both seasoned fundraising professionals and those who desire campaign experience would thrive in this role. The position is remote with monthly visits to campus; professionals in major cities in the Southeast are welcome to apply. A vehicle is provided for use during professional duties.

The ideal candidate will:
- Bring five or more years of fundraising or sales experience
- Thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Balance strategic thinking with strong organizational and project management skills
- Cultivate relationships that strengthen philanthropic support
- Work with integrity, attention to detail
- Demonstrate a sense of humor, strong work ethic, and grace under pressure
- Have a heart for advancing higher education and Christ-centered stewardship

In honor of Juneteenth, we are spotlighting the Peter Oliver Pavilion Gallery, a project initiated by our client, Creative Corridors Coalition, a tribute to the enduring faith, resilience, and contributions of Peter Oliver (1766–1810).

Who was Peter Oliver?
According to the CCC website, "Oliver was born into slavery, but through strength of spirit and support from the Moravian community of Salem, he gained his freedom and built a life rooted in purpose, family, and faith.
Oliver lived much of his life in Salem (now part of Winston-Salem), where the Moravian Church’s commitment to community, education, and Christian values shaped the town’s early identity. "

A Week of Celebration
WFDD shares that " the 225th anniversary freedom celebration of Juneteenth and Oliver's life is this week and includes a tour of the Peter Oliver Archives, a premiere of the documentary film, 'The Life and Legacy of Peter Oliver,' a public walk in Peter Oliver’s footsteps at Historic Bethabara Park, and the culmination on Saturday with the Winston-Salem Juneteenth Celebration at Bailey Park downtown."
