Today we stopped by Astoria Senior Living and brought s’mores milkshakes for the staff… and they had the whole place transformed into “Camp A’Smoria”

Not just decorations. Not just a theme.
A full-on celebration for the caregivers who show up every single day for other people’s families.

And what made it even better? Games, Staff had their kids there too. So it didn’t feel like work,it felt like community.
Moments like this is part of why we love what we do. Caregivers deserve to be celebrated like this every day, not just a week.

One of the greatest honors of this work is being invited into people’s lives during moments that matter deeply.

Recently, we had the privilege of walking hand in hand with a very special family as they navigated an unexpected and difficult season following emergency surgery, rehabilitation, and rapid life changes. Together, we searched for a place that would provide excellent care, therapy, comfort, and a welcoming environment where family and friends could continue surrounding their loved one with support and love.

After touring together, we found the perfect fit.

When I work with families, they truly become like family to me. Behind every transition are countless moving pieces, and it is my privilege to help carry those burdens so families can focus on what matters most, loving one another through it all.

Today, we were incredibly honored to be invited to celebrate Wanda’s 71st birthday before she begins her next chapter of treatment. Watching the love of her family and friends surround her today was such a beautiful reminder that even in uncertain seasons, there is still joy, laughter, dignity, and so much love.

Happy Birthday, Wanda. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.

Some moments in this work stay with you forever.
This was one of them. 💙

This week, I had the honor of walking hand-in-hand with a husband and wife who have spent a lifetime loving each other. As aging brought new challenges, cognitive decline for one spouse and serious health concerns for the other- they found themselves separated during a season when they needed each other most.

After a lot of coordination, advocacy, creative problem solving, and working closely with their family, today we were finally able to reunite them in their own apartment together.

Watching him hold his bride’s hand again was a reminder that senior placement is about so much more than finding a facility. It’s about preserving dignity, protecting love, easing fear, and helping families navigate some of the hardest transitions of their lives with compassion and guidance.

Aging is not always easy. But having the right people beside you can make all the difference.

Families don’t just want “a facility.” They want a home. ❤️

Yesterday, we had the honor of helping two long-time Lake Wales residents find their new home at Water’s Edge of Lake Wales. A beautiful assisted living community right in the heart of the town they know and love.

These are the moments that remind me why local matters. Families who have lived, worked, raised children, and built their lives in this community deserve to continue feeling connected to it.

Their family fell in love with the little things:
• The rocking chairs ready for sunset conversations
• The sweet community kitty who stops by to say hello from a distance
• The peaceful walking path
• A library that stays loved and replenished
• Kind staff, familiar smiles, and the comfort of still feeling “at home”

Senior living should never feel cold or clinical. The right community feels safe, warm, familiar… and full of life.

Helping families find that perfect fit while preserving dignity, comfort, and connection to the place they love most is truly an honor.

The smiles, the laughter, the stories being shared… these are the moments that matter most.

Yesterday was such a beautiful reminder that finding the next phase of life for someone you love does not have to feel cold, scary, or clinical. It can feel hopeful. Peaceful. Even joyful.

So many families wait until they are deep in crisis mode before exploring options, but getting ahead of the situation allows families to make thoughtful decisions focused on quality of life, dignity, happiness, and connection.

And honestly? A really great assisted living community can sometimes feel a little like senior citizen summer camp! delicious meals, activities, friendships, music, laughter, outings, and a built-in community… except the fun gets to continue year round - when you want it of course.

With years of experience in senior living facilities, in patient rehabilitation, home health and home care helping families navigate this journey is deeply personal to me. I love walking hand-in-hand with families to help find the right fit not just any fit. The goal is always peace of mind, comfort, and creating a life that still feels full of purpose and joy.

This morning, Senior Consulting Advisors partnered with Compassionate Care Hospice to treat the incredible nursing team at Astoria Senior Living to a coffee & muffin bar.

These nurses show up day after day with compassion, patience, strength, and servant hearts for the seniors they care for — and we simply wanted them to feel appreciated and loved on a little today.

A special thank you to Meg, Director of Nursing, and Adam, Assistant Director of Nursing, for the leadership, care, and heart you pour into your team and residents each day. It does not go unnoticed.

We are always grateful for the opportunity to partner with others in our community who care so deeply for seniors and the people serving them behind the scenes.
