Holly’s passport is officially good to go! So excited to be headed to Tryon in a couple of weeks!

A huge thank you to Absolute Equine Veterinary Services, PLLC for doing an amazing job on our passport, answering a ton of questions from me, and generally going above and beyond during the whole process!

March is off to a busy start! There have been several new arrivals and horses started into work:

-Notchie is a lovely Dutch Harness gelding. He’s with us for a couple of months to be in consistent work and expand his knowledge base.

-Keeley, an adorable Halflinger gelding is working on getting re-started under saddle.

-Cider Apple, owned by New Life Center for Thoroughbreds is in training to be re-started after having a vacation from her racing career.

-Arlo, who recently arrived to New Life Center for Thoroughbreds is working on finding his forever person.

Huxley Greer Equestrian currently has one training board spot opening up April 1st. Huxley is a FEI dressage and event rider who has brought horses up through the levels in dressage and eventing. She is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist and is working towards her Gold. Huxley has competed through the CCI2*L level of eventing and is actively pursuing to continue her move up the levels.

Huxley has experience with all breeds and has helped develop fundamentals for horses going into many different disciplines. She specializes in starting young horses, re-starting off the track thoroughbreds, and helping horses and riders achieve their goals together. Additionally, Huxley has brought several young horses up through the levels in dressage.

Training board is located at New Life Equestrian Center in Wirtz, VA - a top notch sport horse facility offering specialized care.

We have an exciting weekend ahead taking 5 horses to October War Horse!

It’s an exciting move up weekend for Madeline Wood and her horse Electoral College as they move up to novice. Additionally, Courtney Hill and Kovach are making their maiden debut!

I’m excited to be participating in the first HTs for two four year olds I’ve had in training. Mary P’s Toblerone is competing in the green as grass horse trial and Heidi Groggin’s Slow Moe is running the maiden.

Last, but not least, Holly and I are running the modified to prepare for VHT in a couple of weeks!

It’s clipping season! Here, 4 year old Toblerone, aka Toby, got his first body clip in preparation for his first HT coming up at War Horse next weekend! 🥳

So far 2022 has been an amazing year. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to help fantastic clients and horses. In an effort to become better at social media, over the next week or so, I’m going to be spotlighting current horses in training.

Additionally, I’m going to be sharing sights and scenes from beautiful New Life Equestrian Center which I’m lucky enough to be based out of! Last, but not least, I’ll be sharing updates on New Life Center for Thoroughbreds - the non-profit I am co founder of - and the wonderful OTTBs I’m currently getting to work with.

Had such a wonderful time at SPHT I with Reggie (Rafferty’s Rules) in the training! Thank you so much to Wits End Eventing for letting me ride him and Julia Bulkeley for sharing him with me. It’s such a privilege to ride such a special horse! Also, thank you to Sam Erwin who is being a fantastic cheerleader in this video - I’m sure Reggie loved it!
