Had a great trip with my client Brad and his 12 year old son who never caught walleye. So for our have day trip we started out jigging step breaks off the flats and channel. We managed to catch a couple small walleye jigging and dead sticking. Then about 930 we switched over to trolling and it was game on we managed about 20 small whitebass and then 4 back to back walleye hit the net. 18.5 ,19.75 , 18, and a nice 22.50 slot fish all fished caught today were releasedto be caught anotherday. Hi folks! I had a great day on the water with Bruce and his grandkids ages 10 and 7 it wasn't about taking pictures. It was about getting kids hooked on fishing. They had a blast there never fished before so it was about teaching them how to cast and waht to use for panfish. It turned into a competition really fast on who caught how many. They caught between 30 -40 bluegills and 22 inch pike. It wasn't about size of the fish it was about seeing the smiles on there face. It cracked be up by then ended of the day the 10 year old was casting on here own pretty good. She managed to cast over a dead fall in the water and obviously we lost the slip bobber and hook . She looked at me and said you have plenty of poles just give me another one. I have dates available for August. Had a good day on the Petenwell flowage With Christine and Chad the fish were very scattered today. We started out jigging and deadticking in the wood in about 16 feet of water we caught a few small walleye and then about 930 we decided to throw out the boards and trolled the rest of the half day trip. We caught alot odf small walleye and whitebass. They managed to take a couple whitebass and a nice 19 inch walleye home for a meal. We had great conversation and they learned alot today about Petenwell. It's not always about how many fish you catch but gaining knowledge about what I look for and how to troll. Well folks had a weekend off so I decided to fish the whiskey river challenge today on Petenwell. I did some pre fishing yesterday and caught a few and today we caught roughly about 18-20 walleyes but just couldn't find the right ones caught a handful of crappies and a few nice perch too. So yesterday we had an 18.50 and 21 and today a 17.75 and a 15.75 and a bunch of 14.50. I still have dates available if you're looking to get on the water and have a good time. I had a great morning out on the water with David and his brother-in-law we fished the river they wanted to target smallmouth so thats what we did. We managed to catch about 10-15 they weren't easy to find . We definitely put the time and work in to catch the ones we did. Didn't get many pics today as they were quick to take off and throw them back. I will admit it was definitely out of my comfort zone as I normally don't fish for bass much but I accepted the challenge and gave it my all. We really had great conversation talking about fishing stories. Well had a nice relaxing weekend. Went out and fish 4 hours on Saturday and 3 hours today . I was doing some scouting for an upcoming trip. In the past couple of days I say I caught over 15 smallmouth bass and about a half dozen walleye. I was just enjoying the peace and quiet so didn't take many pictures. Hi folks! Today I enjoyed a trip with wally and Steve out on Petenwell flowage today. We started at 5 am just after the rain stop we started out trolling for the first couple hours and it was rough . We had 4 foot rollers and then about 8 o'clock we went and check out a few spots and jigged in the timber in 16 foot of water with no results. We marked plenty of fish they just didn't want to commit .So we decided to go back to trolling and manage to put 4 sheepshead and white bass in the boat along with a 16.5 inch walleye and a nice 20.75 slot fish the water is very muddy and delta with 2.5 foot rollers the rest of the day conditions were definitely tough. Hi folks! Had a great out on the water with my client David Billings from Kentucky.We started out the morning jigging and dead sticks from Ke in the wood.after a couple of hours of no luck we switched gears and started trolling the flats. Started out with flicker 7's and switched over to salmo hornets and it was game on . So as fast as we could get the boards back out we had fish on constantly we caught a mixture of drum, Crappie, persch, whitebass, and about 40 short walleye and and 5 legals. Well went to lake Dexterville today for bluegills and crappies but I highly recommend if you have a big boat stay off the water is down 5-6 feet and getting lower. It was very sketchy getting out there from the boat landing as it's shallow as it is but being down as much as it is alot of 1 foot to 2 foot of water . For a long ways . We had to work very hard for the 13 my buddy kept for a meal. They were not in normal spots due to such low water. I will be hitting Petenwell flowage and other bodies of water as the season goes on.
