Thorpe Vineyard The Little Winery on the Great Lake has been woman owned and operated since 1988. Stop in and taste our award winning wines. We look forward to seeing you!

Thorpe Vineyard is situated on the south shore of Lake Ontario, adjacent to the beautiful Chimney Bluffs State Park, and about halfway between Rochester and Syracuse, New York. Tasting Room Hours*

The Little Winery on the Great Lake has a small Tasting Room with a capacity of about 15 people. We do not accept Bus or Limo visits during our regular tasting room hours. Please contact us for arrangement if you wish to come in a large group. We have a few picnic tables on the lawn where you can enjoy our wine as well. Please keep your pets on leash at all times on our premises. Thank you. January - March: Open by appointment for bottle sales. Call or email us! April - June: Sat & Sun 12 noon - 6 pm

July - Labor Day: Daily 12 noon - 6 pm

September & October: Sat & Sun 12 noon - 6 pm

November & December: Sat & Sun 12 noon - 5 pm

Also open on Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Columbus Day

Two bright Planets, Jupiter and Mars, and Leo the Lion have been my companions since September when I happen to wake up in the wee hours of the morning. They rise a bit sooner every night and shortly will be easily visible after midnight.

Jupiter and Mars will come next to each other on 16 November. Then they will mingle with Regulus, the brightest star of Leo the Lion, on 25 November. Leonid Meteor Shower is active through the month of November with the peak activities generally happening around 16-17 November.

So when you are up early and the sky is clear, remember to look up to find these Celestial Buddies!

It's October, and the Foliage Season in New York State is underway!

Some leaves are turning yellow and orange in our neighborhood including Chimney Bluffs State Park, but our prime season is still a bit away as this map by I LOVE NEW YORK shows. Nonetheless, the fall foliage has started and the colors deepen everyday. Come out for a ride and stop in for a w**e tasting and a chat with us! We are open on Friday through Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, until 6 on Saturday. Call or email us if you'd like to stop in any other times/days. Looking forward to your visit!

Harvest Moon tonight! It's a full moon that occurs closest to the Autumnal Equinox, which was 3 days ago this year. High thin clouds are moving in from the east that surround the brewing Nor'easter in the Atlantic. Winds are also picking up, but it is such a beautiful night so step outside and enjoy the charming Harvest Moon!
