🌿Plant Spotlight: Ficus Elastica Tineke 🌿
Yes, this is a real plant! Popular for it’s beautiful tricolor leaves this plant can grow to be upwards of 10ft tall indoors. If you’re familiar with a Fiddle Leaf Fig, both of these plants actually reside in the Ficus family. If you’ve had a Fiddle Leaf Fig and found it to be a struggle, try a Ficus Elastica variety. They tend to be a much more hardy plant.
This plant is native to South East Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia and the Himalayas.
Care at a Glance:
- Bright, indirect light ( the better the light, the better the variegation. But no direct light)
- Water when the 75% of soil is dry (overwatering is the most common killer of this plant)
- Prefers a chunky, well-draining substrate
- Grows relatively fast
- Enjoys moderate to high humidity
