🌿 From struggling → thriving 🌱

This pothos n' joy came in needing a little extra attention, including some root work and fresh substrate and it’s amazing what a difference the right environment can make.

Sometimes plants don’t need to be replaced, they just need proper care, healthier roots, and a fresh foundation.

Watching plants bounce back never gets old 💚

If you have a plant that’s looking a little sad lately, feel free to send a photo — I’m always happy to help take a look!

Plant Spotlight: Philodendron Florida Varieties

One of the most unique and recognizable climbing Philodendrons .

The Philodendron Florida family includes beautiful varieties like:
- Florida Green
- Florida Beauty
- Florida Ghost

Each one has the same iconic leaf shape, but with its own unique colors and characteristics.

🌱 Florida Green is known for its rich green foliage and vigorous growth
🤍 Florida Ghost produces pale minty-white new leaves that darken over time
✨ Florida Beauty combines the dramatic leaf shape with stunning variegation

Like many climbing Philodendrons, these plants thrive best with:
• bright indirect light
• chunky, well-draining substrate
• consistent moisture
• proper vertical support as they mature

One of the coolest things about Florida varieties is how much they transform as they climb and mature, especially when given the right support 🌿

Definitely a favorite among collectors for a reason!

Check out the difference proper support can make. This adansonii was on a moss pole for 4 months and is flourishing!

Monsteras and many climbing plants aren’t meant to grow outward forever, they naturally want to climb.

Without support, plants often:
• stretch outward
• produce smaller leaves
• become unstable over time

Adding a moss pole helps encourage stronger upward growth, better structure, and larger more mature foliage over time.

This is one of the biggest transformations you can make for climbing plants, both aesthetically and for their long-term health.

If your plant is starting to lean, crawl, or outgrow its space, it may be ready for support 🌿

When I repot a plant, I’m also checking things like:

- Root health
- Soil condition and moisture retention
- Drainage and airflow
- Signs of stress or rot
- Overall plant structure and stability

A lot of plant problems actually start below the surface long before the leaves show signs of stress.

That’s why proper repotting can make such a huge difference in a plant’s long-term health and growth 🌿

Okay plant people… I want to know what’s your current dream plant?

The one you’ve been wanting forever, keep adding to your cart, or would immediately bring home if given the chance.

Mine personally would be a Monstera Bulbasaur or Varigated Billietiae.

Not all Monsteras grow the same .

One of the biggest things people don’t realize is that there are both large form and small form Monstera, and they grow very differently over time.

🌿 Large Form Monsteras
• Thicker stems
• More compact growth
• Larger leaves and fenestrations over time
• Slower but sturdier growth habit

🌱 Small Form Monsteras
• Faster, more vine-like growth
• Longer spacing between leaves
• Thinner stems
• Often climb and stretch more aggressively

Another HUGE factor?
Support.

Monsteras are natural climbers, and without proper support, they often:
• grow outward instead of upward
• produce smaller leaves
• become leggy or unstable
• struggle to mature properly

Giving your Monstera a moss pole or structured support can completely change the way it grows over time.

Healthy roots + proper light + vertical support = the best chance at those big, beautiful leaves everyone wants.

If you’re unsure what type of Monstera you have or whether it could benefit from support, feel free to send a photo, I’m always happy to help 🌱

🌿 Service Highlight: Root Rot & Root Bound Correction

A struggling plant isn’t always a lost cause.

Many common plant issues actually start below the soil, especially when roots stay too wet for too long or become severely crowded over time.

Signs of root issues can include:
• yellowing leaves
• drooping despite watering
• slow or stalled growth
• mushy roots or stems
• soil staying wet for extended periods

During root care services, we carefully inspect the root system, remove damaged roots when needed, refresh the substrate, and help give the plant a healthier foundation moving forward 🌱

Sometimes a proper reset is all a plant needs to bounce back.

If you’re unsure whether your plant may have root issues, feel free to send a photo, I’m always happy to help take a look!

🌿 Why cheap potting soil can cause problems for your plants

One of the biggest issues I see during repots isn’t always watering, it’s actually the soil itself.

Over time, lower-quality potting mixes can become compacted, stay wet for too long, lose airflow, and slowly suffocate the roots.

Healthy roots need:
🌱 airflow
🌱 proper drainage
🌱 moisture balance
🌱 room to grow

That’s why different plants often need different substrates depending on how they grow and what environment they prefer.

The right soil can completely change how a plant grows, drinks, and thrives 🌿

If your plant has been struggling despite “doing everything right,” the soil may be part of the problem.
