Tips to start New School Year.
# 1 If your child has transitioning issues, is moving to a new school(middle or high) or has severe anxiety.... EMAIL your case manager to set up a walk through of their new school and to walk through their class schedule as well as see where their locker is situated.
# 2 Write up a letter and sens an email to his teachers (2nd or 3rd day of school, once you find out names) with information about your child and the list of modifications on their IEP.
All teachers are "supposed" to read each IEP prior to classes starting. The sad reality is that some don't and many forget your child's individual needs.
# 3 Email your child's teacher(s) week 2 of school and let them know you are committed to a good school year and will assist your child with staying on task at home and would appreciate any recommendations they may have. Also, let them know that you are committed to the partnership of your parent and teacher relationship for the common goal to help your child make meaningful progress.
And remember to thank them for choosing a profession that makes a positive difference in the life of your child.🥰
Have a Great 2019-2020 School Year!
