Some information to share with any Veterans that struggle through events with fireworks. What I have noticed and my 10 tips that have helped me and some of my Veteran buddies.

1. Try not to be alone or isolate yourself on the 4th of July.

2. Be with true battle buddies you can trust, can share with and relate with.

3. Don't over medicate or drink heavily leading up to the fireworks as this can make things much worse.

4. Prepare mentally and treat the event like a training exercise mentally, several days in advance.

5. Use noise canceling earphones, muffs or plugs to reduce sounds.

6. Don't close your eyes or be indoors where you can't see them. I have found that doing this and only hearing the booms can really ignite triggers and when there are not other senses to balance the mental aspects.

7. Participate, share and try to enjoy the festivities in honor of those who served to our left and right. This is easier for some than others.

8. Be careful with the signs for your yard about your Veteran status if your cognizant to OPSEC, privacy and Security of your home because the wrong people may see it.

9. Go watch the fireworks and actually put eyes on them.

10. Most importantly... If you start to struggle mentally and or emotionally call a battle buddy, go get help from a professional and do not make any decisions without talking to someone.

We have maintained this contract for over 10 years and have provided stellar services to the client’s site. An NDA is required to work on the client site. Must be available for paid trips short trips 1 to 2 times a year.

This is a full time position with 5.11 clothing provided by employer. Pay increases and bonuses are also available on performance based rating evaluations and periods.

BOSSC is currently looking for Un-Armed Security Officers to serve on a community contract in Woodbridge, VA. This can be entry level persons or those with experience. You must be reliable, punctual, respectful, customer service orientated and someone capable of interacting with the public in a positive method. You must additionally be capable of working with little to no supervision, which means you have to be trustworthy and free of a disqualifying criminal history and employment disciplinary history.

The positions available involves working at entrance control gate to a high-end community. Security Officers will greet the public, assist with allowing authorized visitors into the community, deterring criminal activity, reporting suspicious activity and assisting community members with Security needs. Shifts are typically 8-hour shifts but 12-hour shifts and some over-time at time and a half is possible. Shifts run from 0700 am through 1100 pm, 7 days a week. BOSSC may also have vehicle patrol positions open, must have a clean and responsible driving history for this specific position.

Pay and benefits include a generous and competitive hourly rate. Most Security Officers will start off at $13.00 to $15.00 per hour with advancements at this site up to $18.00 per hour. Pay raises are available with good performance. Employee paid into health benefit options are available. All uniforms and equipment will be provided, and all training will be onsite. After 90 days of service, Bossc will pay for your DCJS trainings. All Security Officer control points have bathrooms, desks, refrigerators, microwaves and a coffee pot. The control points are additionally all climate controlled and Officers must not be on their phones, distracted or not interacting with community members during shift.

It is never a great feeling to hear your Security personnel having to deal with firearm incidents, Police chases, helicopters and other criminal acts. Our Security Officers at Black Ops Security Services and Consulting Inc. are 2nd to none! Ofc Jackson staying vigilant on his post was stellar to say the least in detecting a potentially violent incident that was playing out. LT Kelly and CPL Iste gearing up and responding to an active threat shows their bravery and willingness to protect others. The PWCPD response and working with our Armed and Unarmed Officers was how it should work in critical incidents. Can’t say enough good things about everyone involved.
