Due to the expected heat of 95° and the strain that’s to be put on the electrical grid with all the extra ACs and fans running I’m going to postpone this week‘s flush until next Wednesday when the temperatures are only supposed to be in the 70s. If anyone is seeing any regular issues anywhere, please let me know and I can always come open up your neighborhood from time to time to flush.

Our primary water source, the local aquifer, is currently experiencing a seasonal decline in its levels. While this situation is not yet critical, it serves as a proactive signal for all of us to become more mindful and efficient in our daily water consumption habits. Our collective efforts now are essential to ensure the long-term sustainability and health of our water supply for everyone.

We fully appreciate that summer often involves activities requiring water, whether it's maintaining lush gardens, keeping vehicles clean, or power washing homes. Our aim is not to discourage these activities entirely, but rather to encourage a more judicious approach. The core of our request is simply to eliminate unnecessary water waste and to practice thoughtful conservation in all aspects of daily life. Every drop conserved by each household contributes significantly to the overall stability of our shared resource.

To assist in these collective efforts, we kindly request you consider the following water-saving practices:

* **Lawn and Garden Watering:** Limit lawn watering to a maximum of 20 minutes, no more than three times per week. Where possible, water during the overnight or early morning hours. This timing allows for optimal absorption and significantly reduces water loss due to evaporation.
* **Indoor Use:** Opt for shorter showers and ensure dishwashers and washing machines are run only when full to maximize efficiency.
* **Outdoor Cleaning:** When washing vehicles, consider using a bucket and sponge, or if possible, perform washes on a permeable surface like your lawn, allowing the water to nourish the grass. Power washing should be done sparingly and efficiently.
* **Leak Detection:** Promptly identify and repair any leaks in faucets, toilets, or irrigation systems, as even small drips can amount to substantial waste over time.
