But effort alone has never been the thing that gets someone booked

In a few weeks I’m walking into a room full of people who hire speakers for a living

Nobody talks about what building a business actually costs you on the inside

Here are 5 lessons 5 years taught me

1. Business exposes every insecurity you have

You will come face to face with every lie you believed about yourself

The stories you told yourself about why you weren’t ready

There were moments I sat in an empty bank account wondering if I made the biggest mistake of my life

Completely broke but still believing

That tension between reality and vision is where most people quit

2. If it were easy everyone would do it

There will be seasons where nothing works and everything feels heavy

Where you’re working harder than you ever have and seeing less than you expected

The hard is what makes it worth it

The hard separates the ones who make it from the ones who walk away

3. Doubt never fully goes away

Some days I still feel it

But I made a decision a long time ago to move forward anyway

Courage isn’t the absence of doubt

It’s building in spite of it

It’s showing up when the numbers don’t reflect the effort yet

4. You can do more than you ever imagined

But not alone

The people around you will determine how far you go

The right community will push you past every ceiling you set for yourself

We were never designed to do this by ourselves

5. The journey is the reward

Five years in and I’m still learning

Still growing

Still grateful for every hard season that shaped me

Through every season God was faithful

Even when I couldn’t see it

Trust the process and trust the One who ordered your steps
