Thank you Napars, for the shout out to Nicholas Funk!

The latest CA²RS newsletter is out. It mentioned some recent training they did with Nick Funk devoted to heavy truck data sources. The newsletter mentioned the following questions investigators should ask right out of the gate any time there is a dash camera of some sort:
-What causes the camera to record?
-Can the driver manually activate it?
-Is the video stored locally or in the cloud?
-What happens if power is lost?
-Can the original raw data be obtained?
Those details can be important to data preservation and having the detail necessary when analyzing timing, speed, or driver response.

Please join us in welcoming Nick Funk, our new Associate Reconstructionist. After 19 years of dedicated service with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Nick recently retired and joined our team, bringing a wealth of investigative experience. He excels in collision reconstruction, evidence collection and analysis, scene and vehicle investigation, heavy vehicle inspections, and turning complex data into clear insights.

We are also happy to welcome Renee Burdulis Fetty as our Office Manager. Renée brings strong operational leadership and a focus on improving systems behind the scenes, helping everything run smoothly for our team and our clients. She plays a key role in streamlining processes and strengthening engagement so we can continue to deliver exceptional service.
