🦟 Mosquitoes are still going strong in late summer!
As we head toward the end of summer, don’t assume mosquito season is finished. Warm temperatures, humidity, rainfall, and standing water can continue supporting mosquito activity around homes and businesses.

The photos in this graphic highlight female Culex mosquitoes and their life cycle. Female Culex mosquitoes are the ones that bite people and animals because they need a blood meal to produce eggs. They lay their eggs on the surface of water, where the eggs form floating rafts that can contain 100–300 eggs. The larvae then hatch and develop in the water before eventually emerging as adult mosquitoes. Culex mosquitoes are generally most active from dusk to dawn and some species can transmit West Nile virus.

💧 Help reduce mosquito breeding opportunities by regularly checking your property for standing water in birdbaths, buckets, planters, gutters, toys, tires, and other water-holding areas.

🐜 Termites can cause serious damage long before you realize they’re there.
These silent invaders are constantly searching for moisture, wood, and shelter, and they can enter through cracks, gaps around pipes, crawl spaces, and areas where wood comes into contact with soil.
Keep an eye out for warning signs like mud tubes, discarded wings, hollow-sounding wood, and damaged or blistering surfaces. Reducing moisture, storing firewood away from your home, and scheduling regular inspections can help lower your risk.

🐜🕷️🐭 Why do pests invade your home in the first place?
Ants, spiders, and rodents usually aren’t showing up by accident—they’re searching for things like food, water, shelter, warmth, or an easy way inside. Understanding what attracts them is one of the best first steps toward keeping them out.
Simple actions like sealing entry points, reducing moisture, cleaning up food sources, securing trash, and managing clutter can make your home less inviting to unwanted pests.

At Bug Busters, pest control is about more than just treating what you can see. We go above and beyond to help protect your home.
As part of our service, our technicians can de-web accessible areas around your home, removing spider webs from common problem spots like eaves, windows, doorways, and exterior corners.
Why does de-webbing matter? Removing existing webs helps keep your home looking clean while disrupting areas where spiders have been active. And because spiders often follow their food source, controlling the other insects around your property can also help reduce spider activity.
It’s all part of our commitment to providing thorough pest protection and dependable service every time we visit.

🕷️ Seeing More Spiders Around Your Home? You’re Not Alone!
From common household spiders to the large, colorful Joro spiders becoming more noticeable across Georgia, late summer is a great time to pay attention to spider activity around your property.
While spiders can actually be beneficial by feeding on insects like flies, mosquitoes, ants, and moths, you probably don’t want them—or their webs—taking over your home. Help make your property less inviting by reducing clutter, removing old webs, sealing potential entry points, managing other insects, and addressing excess moisture.

🐭 Is your garage accidentally inviting rodents inside?
Rodents are always searching for food, water, shelter, and a safe place to nest—and your garage can provide exactly what they need.
Help make your garage less inviting with this quick checklist:
✅ Store pet food and birdseed in sealed containers
✅ Keep trash cans tightly closed
✅ Replace cardboard boxes with sealed plastic bins
✅ Check garage doors and weather stripping for gaps
✅ Seal openings around pipes, vents, walls, and foundations
✅ Watch for droppings, gnaw marks, nesting materials, and scratching sounds
A clean, organized, and properly sealed garage can go a long way toward helping prevent unwanted rodent visitors.
