Securelanding

Securelanding Security and Peace of Mind Wherever You Land Securelanding is a concept that impacts one's being. Check www.cfdhv.org an organization I co-founded in 2012.

It is a place to land in the mind where one know's all will be well. It connotes peace of mind, the ability to accept what is and to respond to it, in a fearless, authentic, and empowering manner. It’s a place from which one can learn how to appreciate life, knowing that one day you, your loved ones, and your pets, will no longer be in this life, as you know it. The security comes in:
• knowing t

hat people you care about, know it;
• making your wishes about end-of-life care known to your loved ones and physicians;
• appreciating death as a reminder of the preciousness of life. The time to have these conversations is when you are well, not just when someone is dying and there is a prevailing crisis. Also on Facebook CFD Death Cafe and CFDHV. Together we are breaking the taboo!

I bring the concept of Securelanding to all of the organizations I work with. It is a place to land in the mind where one know's all will be well. It connotes peace of mind, the ability to accept what is and to respond to it in a fearless, authentic, and empowering manner. It’s a place from which one sees choices, and moves into action with appreciation and grace.

Co-Founder of Community Organizations

  • In 1979, I co-founded the Hospice Association of Ulster County, with 9 of the most compassionate, committed people imaginable. It was early in the movement and we were excited to be on the cutting-end of bringing this concept to the people of Ulster County. The hospice movement was bathed in palliative care. I remember hearing the term for the first time and not being sure how to spell it. Now, 2018, Palliative Care has become its own entity, even a specialized medical field. I was the first Director; wrote grants; trained volunteers; did media and marketing; and anything else needed to get the word out. I was recognized in 1995 by the Hospice Association of Ulster County and ARCS as a “dynamic visionary and social activist”. I have had the honor of training hundreds of people in the arena of dying, death, and bereavement through Hospice’s volunteer trainings and through Securelanding programs.

  • 1986 was the time to co-found the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, Woodstock’s first ever synagogue. Having served on the Board of Directors from the beginning and taking part in the Capital Campaign, which successfully raised funds to build the synagogue, at the request of the Rabbi, I organized and ran the art gallery which not only enhanced the space, but generated funds for the synagogue The congregation gathers approximately 1200 people under a tent, during the High Holidays.
