It was an early morning for the Shenandoah Towing recovery team after a TRIP activation on Interstate 81 near mile marker 269. TOC reported a tractor-trailer on its side, blocking all lanes. After removing the road tractor due to the heavy damage, VDOT used their loader to push the trailer over the guardrail so we could reopen both lanes of the interstate amid heavy traffic volumes. We then cleared the remaining debris from the median.

Excellent work by everyone involved, and a special thank-you to the Virginia State Police, Webber Traffic Control, and VDOT for keeping the scene safe.

Christopher Jr. was the on-duty supervisor today when an off-road recovery call came in. A delivery driver attempted to turn around and slid too far off the driveway, leaving the vehicle stuck and inaccessible. Due to the positioning and ground conditions, a standard wrecker couldn’t reach it.

Without hesitation, Christopher responded with the excavator and quickly recovered the work van, getting it back on the road so the driver could finish delivering packages.
