This is a scam.

Don't call the number.

The scammers are lying and trying to scare people into believing that McAfee will charge your debit card $699.91.

If you receive a suspicious email that appears to be from McAfee, you can forward it to [email protected].

You can also look for these signs to identify a fake invoice:

The email comes from a domain that's not associated with McAfee, such as gmail.com or aol.com.

The email includes a link that could install malware on your computer.

The email asks you to call a phone number to cancel a subscription or pay money.

It's a scam!

This is what pop-ups on folks' computer screens looks like.
The pop-ups say things like:

"Microsoft Windows Server tried to reactivate the key of the software but failed. The machine is using counterfeit software or a dangerous ransomewear is installed and it will cause damage to nearby devices.

"All usage services and internet facilities will be terminated. If not contacted the Support Representative in If you think you have used Licensed Windows Activation Code, click DENY button to claim the Code. Contact Microsoft Windows Support ###-###-###x (USA head office)."

"Closing this Microsoft Windows puts your personal information at risk and interrupts your Microsoft Windows registration."

It's a lie.
It's all lies.
(It's not even correct grammar, nor complete sentences and it's not technically correct.)
But these pop-ups are all lies!
It's not really Microsoft.
Calling the number will lead you right to the scammers!
Clicking the DENY button or any link will lead you right to the scammers!

If you click or call, the scammers may tell you they are from the fraud department of your bank and they are trying to put your money in a safe place. Don't belive them! Don't call or click.
The scammer may also tell you that you have child p**n on your computer and you are going to be in big trouble and they will help you, for a fee. Don't believe them. Don't call or click!

Many times there is no way to "X" these pop-ups off your screen.
If you know how to "end task", end task.

If you need help, call Mike at Computer Central at 508-829-0000.
