When you ARE your business (at least for now), promoting it can often be a struggle between needing to look confident while fighting back the imposter syndrome whispering in your ear. On my bad days, I succumb to it, but on my good days, I’m able douse it all in grace and reality of the messiness of daring to try.

My friend, and crazy talented photographer Erin, recently captured me and - I guess, The Right Hands! Beyond simple headshots, she has an ability to see the beauty in little things, the messiness in the work, and the story of the moment.

Yesterday, I got a chance to talk to my boys about “toxic friendships” - my 8-year-old has been having some issues with someone he thought was a close friend.

Tomorrow I get to teach my “Healthy Boundaries for a Healthy Business” workshop at the Midwest Craft Con and it is not lost on me that the message is the same no matter how old you are - it takes courage to know where we end and the demands on our time/energy/space begin, and even more to know how to protect those edges.
