Founding of CoSqaure
In April 2018, Caswell Economic Development was contacted to arrange a site visit for mesur.io, an agriculture technology company, interested in relocating to Caswell County. At the same time, the new economic development efforts in Caswell County had identified a shared co-working space as a priority goal to help local business owners and our agricultural producers access hi
gh speed internet capabilities and provide a creative and supporting environment to increase success rates of businesses. Spearheaded by Cori Lindsay, Caswell County’s Economic Development Director, CoSquare was conceived in June 2018 to not only support mesur.io, the anchor tenant, as well asother businesses and producers that may want to start businesses in the area. Advance the economic development efforts of Caswell County by supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, especially our agriculture producers.
2. Help companies get established and rooted in the Caswell community, so they become permanent contributors to the overall diversity and growth of the county’s economy.
3. Increase businesses access to high speed internet and through the collaborative environment created foster exposure and adaptation of new technologies and techniques within our rural businesses. Thanks to our sponsors, Caswell County Economic Development Office, the Town of Yanceyville, Piedmont Community College, the Golden Leaf Foundation, the State of North Carolina – Department of Commerce, the Danville Regional Foundation, Fidelity Bank and Piedmont Electric Membership Cooperative. This space will be modeled after is partnered with Raleigh Founded/Transform GSO a shared co-working space.
