Middle School Sports Update!

First, we just want to say THANK YOU to this incredible community.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been working behind the scenes meeting with local sports organizations, coaches, and community leaders to find the best way to support middle school athletics. Our goal has always been to work with the organizations already serving our youth, not duplicate their efforts.

Because of those conversations, we’re excited to share that we’re focusing on helping provide opportunities for the sports that currently need additional support for the Fall season, with more conversations and announcements to come for winter and spring sports.

For this fall, we have coaches ready for:

Middle School 6th-8th Grade Girls Fastpitch

Middle School 6th-8th Grade Cross Country

Before we move forward, we need to know if the interest is there. If we have enough athletes, we’ll begin reaching out to neighboring schools and programs to build schedules for games and meets and move forward with registration and price finalization depending on the sport.

We’re also working with organizations to help put together a comprehensive list of the organizations stepping up to support middle school sports so families know exactly where to go for each sport. This truly has become a community effort.

We have to say, the amount of collaboration happening right now is incredible. Watching coaches, organizations, volunteers, and community members come together, not to compete, but to make sure our kids have opportunities to play, has been inspiring. This is what makes Yelm so special.

Now we need to know if the need is there.

If interested please take a moment to comment with either Fastpitch or Cross Country. Your response will help us determine whether we move forward with these programs and finalize registration.

Even if your child isn’t participating, tagging families helps us reach those who may be interested.
