Quick exercise:

Today ask your staff this question:

“If something serious happened here… what’s our plan?”

If the room gets quiet, that tells you everything you need to know.

Preparation doesn’t have to be complicated.

But it DOES have to exist.

People think security is just standing around until something happens.

Reality?

Good security notices the problem before everyone else even realizes there IS a problem.

Also:

Yes, we notice the guy acting weird
Yes, we saw the blocked exit
And yes… we also notice when someone steals fries off someone else’s plate

Awareness is awareness.

That’s the job.

Tip Line Tuesday:

One of the easiest ways to make a business feel safer?

Make it obvious someone is paying attention.

People notice:

Employees engaged with their surroundings
Clean and visible entry points
Someone actually present and aware

Most problems look for easy opportunities.

Don’t give them one.

(Also yes… “Tip Line Tuesday” sounds like a hotline from a 90s crime show.)

You don’t have to be paranoid to pay attention to what’s happening around you.

YARD Security Services (YSS) is growing fast, and we anticipate hiring 10 or more Security Officers soon to support our expanding event security operations throughout Thurston, Pierce, and King counties.

🛡️ About the Role:
We provide professional event security at local events, and we’re looking for individuals who take pride in being reliable, respectful, and professional at all times.

✅ Security experience is a plus
✅ Military experience is a plus
✅ Professionalism is a must
✅ Our goal is to help all officers obtain their Armed Security Guard License – we’ll guide you through the process.

Hours will depend on specific events. These are part time positions based on event contracts. Being flexible required.
