On this day, on the 25th anniversary, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who answered the call during one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.
We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. As thousands were making their way to safety, these firefighters were running toward the danger. We honor all of the first responders who gave their lives that day, those we have lost since to 9/11-related illnesses, and those who continue to suffer from the lasting effects of their work at Ground Zero.
The courage and sacrifice shown that day have left a lasting mark on us in the fire service. The example set by the heroes that day continues to shape and guide generations of firefighters, and their legacy is one we are proud to carry forward.
25 years have passed, but the promise remains the same. We remember the 343. We remember every life taken that day and those we have lost since. We honor all who answered the call, and we stand with the families, survivors, and first responders who continue to carry the weight of September 11th.
