01/01/2025
I want to encourage you this morning with a word that not many others might speak, but it’s what's on my heart: Don’t Start Over. Continue.
So often milestone dates – New Years Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries – trigger us to start over. Somehow it feels appropriate to turn the page and start fresh. Many times that’s true, those milestones are a great marker for a new beginning. But if we’re always starting new, we’re also always starting over.
· Every year we start over.
· Every month we start over.
· Every day we start over.
In 2025, let’s try a new approach of continuation.
Not continue from the aspect of repeating the same actions and making the same mistakes hoping for a different result (also defined by some as insanity). Not continuing as in expending time, effort, and energy treading water but not getting closer to land. Rather, let’s commit to continuing to actively go after the goals we've set before us. Continue to actively set milestones and take the necessary steps to achieve them.
As we enter into 2025, I encourage you not to automatically start over out of habit or tradition. Take a reflective look at all you’ve accomplished, all you’ve achieved and decide from there where to continue to plow, dig, progress, pursue, and make strides toward any unmet goals. Let’s not dump the entire plan and erase the progress we have made.
Let us continue to follow the voice of the Lord, yield to Holy Spirit, and trust His perfect plan for our lives. Here’s to continued pursuits, continued success, continued purpose, continued advancement, and continued faith to believe for what God said.
