While this may seem cumbersome, it works similarly to a cash-envelope system to avoid overspending. Deposit/transfer money from your primary account into these separate accounts, just like using cash envelope. Then use the respective card for its assigned budget category. Doing this keeps you from spending the "grocery" money on impulse purchases, and it limits your exposure if one of the accounts gets hacked.
