I’m so excited to have finished this custom “in a pickle” pattern by Larissa Key, beautifully pieced by Sharon!

I thought it was going to use digital designs but changed my mind to freehand and rulers.

All quilts promised for Christmas are done! Who knew!

And I finished a few tote bags that were started for a bag class we taught in November. Plus a backpack, Daythum crossbody, small Mav crossbody with unicorns plus a hobo bag! The crossbody bags are spoken for with more cut out in the wings!!

The Aunties Two City bag was well received by my daughter for her birthday.

Nancy sent this to us and we designed the quilting using ProCreate on the iPad and Creative Studio to depict the designs we were thinking of…she approved of the designs before we even started!! Thank you, Nancy, for this quilting opportunity, we think it came out great!! We are happy Donna B. recommended us!

Custom quilting takes longer but on the right quilt it can make all the difference in the world! This was a large quilt with lots of “white space” so we selected designs and interviewed them in the spaces for approval by Nancy. In the blocks without piecing, we repeated the designs from the pieced blocks for a whole cloth effect on the blank blocks. It was fun, challenging and time consuming but sew worth it, we think it came out great!!

I have been very busy and have not posted in a while so thought today is the day! These ladies have done such a beautiful job on their quilts and I appreciate their trust in my work. The snowman custom was especially fun to do as it combined digital and freehand quilting.

Unfortunately, there have been a few longarm quilters in the area, who have stopped quilting for others…which means I have many more to get out before Christmas.

If you are not on my calendar already, there’s a good chance we will have to wait until next year. Appreciate your understanding and will post more as the quilting queue goes down and my energy returns…

The 2025 Annual Gathering of the Greater Hartford Quilt Guild, hosted by Stafford Mill Town Quilters will be Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the

CMEC Building at Johnson Memorial Hospital
201 Chestnut Hill Road (Route 190), Stafford Springs, CT
from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Speaker Beth Helfter of EvaPaige Quilt Designs will give her lecture “Consistency in the Chaos” at 1:00PM.

Between vending by EvaPaige Quilt Designs and the SMTQ “Baa-Tique” you are sure to find something you can’t live without!

Plenty of free parking and reserved handicap spaces will be available $12.00 at the door.

It has been a while since I’ve posted…but these are my quilts that I’ve finished or had in the recent quilt show.

And I’m delivering the Champagne and Pearls quilt pattern by Krista Moser, “Mainely Stars”, to the New England Quilt Museum in July…sew that’s exciting!

This entire quilt was embroidered by Linda Y. and they were stunning!! What a challenge to quilt this masterpiece but thanks to a class with julia_quiltoff at the quilt show in Virginia, I was able to decide/plan the quilting designs. We quilted freehand feathers, rulers and placed digital designs from joycelundrigan it took a while but we were definitely happy with the result!

Penny’s daughter found this quilt at a garage sale and fell in love with it! We free motion quilted it to have the applique come forward and then quilted the outside borders. It was on the frame for a long time but when it was finished, it was sew worth it! Our freehand definitely got a workout along with the back…definitely a labor of love for quilting and happy it is delivered to a happy client!
