*Just like everything else, career fairs have now become ✨virtual✨. As we approach the first quarter of 2022, organizations have now altered their recruiting strategies to include virtual career fairs.

*Including virtual waiting rooms and lobbies, each participant is guaranteed a personal meeting with each recruiter. Recruiters are given lists of all participants, graduation dates, college majors, and resumes.

*Using teleconference and chat functions, all participants have been tested on the functionality of these platforms. Are they more effective than the traditional model? We’ll have to wait and see.

This week’s blog topic discusses HR Trends in 2022. Take a wild guess at the most influential part of HR the past few years. Standing in at the top of the class is *Technology*. I know all the generations loveeee this one. Like it or not- tech is here to stay and if you can’t beat ‘em then join ‘em.

Slide 2 showcases the influential factors in making technology decisions. Coming in at 58% is recruiting and retaining talent. Employee retention being one of the most important reasons to upgrade your technology this year.

The first blog of 2022 and we get to discuss the beloved performance review. For the organizations that still conduct annual reviews, the process is generic across the board. Fill out a form, meet with your supervisor, hopefully get an incentive.

Performance reviews can be helpful, and sometimes it motivates employees. But sometimes, it doesn’t work and the routine can become daunting for all parties involved. 210 hours are spent yearly on performance reviews. 210 hours that could easily be allocated in different ways.

What can we take away from this process? How do employees even feel being graded yearly?

Some organizations are convinced the system is outdated and 55% of employees think that annual reviews have no effect on their performance. So why are we still doing it? Let me know what you think below.

✳️ NEW blog is up on vaccine disclosure in the workplace. Although a daunting task for HR professionals, vaccine disclosure can be crucial to organizations in the event of an outbreak. Employers are allowed to ask current employees and any potential candidates if they’ve gotten vaccinated - and employees have the right to not disclose their vaccination status.
